You're right. I would get mad at a girl that I love for playing MY character in a game. I would then totally post nude pics of said girl after she played a character that I hate in one game while stating that it was all for her own good. You see, by not talking to me for three days after I justifiably told her she can't play MY character anymore, society was able to get their grubby claws into her and turn her into a monster! It would all be for her own good.

Sorry, I completely disagree. When a person allows sensitive pictures or video of them to be taken by another party they are no longer in control to what happens to it. It could be released accidentally through hacking or home invasion etc, or released maliciously. The fact the person allowed the existence of such sensitive material is their own fucking fault so they own at least part of the culpability.

Pure and simple, don't let yourself be photographed or filmed in situations that could be ruinous or embarrassing should they fall into the hands of a third party.

Actually, no, that's not what he's doing. He's just saying that taking naked pictures of yourself means that people might see those pictures, which might happen through malice, negligence or force of circumstance. And that the existance of those pictures is something you're responsible for, and you need to use your best judgement to make sure they don't fall into the wrong hands, because that's the kind of stuff that can hurt your reputation. That's all. Or is telling people to lock their doors when they're not home also "victim blaming"?

Why do people insist on this binary notion that responsibility is an all or nothing thing, that it's all on one side or all on the other? Life don't work that way, things don't exist in a vacuum.

What this dickhead did is despicable and I do hope he gets sued out of his pants (and hopefully some paparazzi immortalizing his pantslessness) for it. But having those pictures taken is a separate thing, and I find the entire concept rather silly.

I believe it is in most states of the US.
Posting naked photos of someone without their consent is I believe a breach of privacy. The person in the photos can sue the one(s) who shared the images landing the person in jail up to 6 months and up to a $1000 fine. California just made a bill for this very thing.

It's only illegal if she didn't give the porn to him or if she was under 18 when the porn was made except in New Jersey where it is illegal and soon in California where a bill to make it illegal was passed but has not become law yet (think it starts up in January.)
