That one looks fake, but I wouldn't be surprised if SONY tried to do that. They did it with the PS2, so why wouldn't they with the PS3?

It's a fake the shopkeep is just trying to make a buck. Last time I was in Mexico some guy tried to sell me a XBOX 720.

While I'm pretty sure it IS fake, I've gotta say that if that shopkeeper stuffed a normal PS3 into a slightly smaller body, (and maybe even going as far as to trim the heatsinks) that thing would heat up so quickly it would make the 360 feel like it could chill drinks.

I posted the same thing earlier before, but anyway, as I said before, if this is true then Sony just can't get a break can they? They can't keep their secrets very secret now can they?

But why oh why do all of these "REVEALED!" videos have to be blurry, shaky, and downright questionable? You'd think they'd just set the camera up and slowly record the damn thing instead of wobbling it all over the place!

I love the Engadget post on this (link [http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/12/probably-fake-video-of-the-ps3-slim-surfaces]).

Most of the comments are talking about how this could be real. I just don't see it myself. Releasing a slimmer PS3 is the last thing Sony needs to be worried about doing right now, I mean, they're not totally clueless as to the state of the market and gaming in general!

This is coming around the right time and I do think sony would have been working on a redesign since launch considering how much better the ps2 sold with it's slim redesign.

MS should be doing this with the 360 as well. If these Jasper units are really free of the rrod, they should redesign the exterior to distance themselves from the rrod travesty.

Hey, it worked for the Gameboy, DS, iPod, PS2, Xbox 360 (compared to the original), various assortment of phones, and nutrition diets. Why wouldn't it work here? Especially if accompanied by a certain price drop in a certain console, or at least a good price in the Slim version of that certain console.

Looks real enough, but some market guy in a 3rd world contry getting hold of it is pretty far fetched. Though it doesn't really matter to me. I never really saw the point in slim PS2s and I don't see the point in this.

Still, we can at least ponder over whether a thinner PS3 will lower the price on it's chunky brother. Judging by Sonys market stratagie lately I doubt it.

I would file this under Most Likely Fake for the same reason I do for UFO films. If it was real, the camera guy wouldn't have been jerking around every 2 seconds like he was on the set of Cloverfield and definately wouldn't have given nothing but 1 inch close-ups throughout the whole video.
