I'm learning in school right now, and have been for a few years. Could you commute to California, perhaps?

My girlfriend played around with Rosetta Stone for Japanese, she would probably recommend it as she is working there this summer.
This.
Rosetta Stone rocks (No pun intended).
There is another program which is even better, according to consumer reports, but I forge the name. But if you want to learn the language and can't access classes? Rosetta Stone. It's awesome.

Schools will fuck you over period.

Example : I couldn't continue japanese because my Catholic school required me to take religion as a subject and I had six subjects to choose. English, PE and religion took up three of them and heres what I picked:
Maths
Biology
Chemistry
I wanted(repeat wanted) to be a vet. So my school fucked me over as well.
May I ask what happened? I mean in the UK the veterinary uni's pretty much specify that you need to do the 2 sciences and either maths or physics. Thankfully my application was succesful and depending on exam results I'll be a vet in 5 years time :).

OT: I would love to learn japanese. But the North west of england isn't the most culturally diverse of places so even finding someone who knew it would be hard. I could ask a friend to teach me chinese. But it wouldn't be the same :/

I had a japanese girlfriend... but to be honest i wasnt really interested in learning how to speak japanese to her.

I do have Rosetta stone though, havent bothered diving into it yet... maybe i should.

I guess i would jus tell you to grab an english-japanese dicitonary and get a pen-pal or 4 and start out that way. You might not understand it spoken but having your diction and grammer from writing will make that so much easier... also... f' kanji... seriously.

Nithing happened, I still do chem, bio and adv math, I just don't want to be a vet anymore as I lost the passion because of the bullshit the school makes us go through.
