That's not maths, that's physics. I hate the Cosine rule [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosine_rule] because it's a ***** to remember. I can rember the Quadratic formula [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadratic_formula#Quadratic_formula] easier than that.wewontdie11 said:I don't mean to be blunt here, but what the hell type of question is that?
I suppose e=mc squared. Not because I don't understand it but just because I cannot possible comprehend the vastness of the forces involved in it with my puny brain.
You learn about it in Physics but it's still a mathematical formula. Maths and the sciences overlap an awful lot in case you haven't noticed.Megacherv said:That's not maths, that's physics. Edit: Oh, I also hate this ***** [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spearman%27s_rank_correlation_coefficient] aswell.
Well yeah, I knew that since I'm doing Maths and Mechanics as a course in college, but I've just never studied it in Maths.wewontdie11 said:You learn about it in Physics but it's still a mathematical formula. Because sometimes you need to know the angle something will launch at, and the force it will launch with, before you launch it. The only way you could measure it is by launching it. But if you instead know the forces of the objects propelling it, you can use them and trigonometry to deduce the force and angle before-hand.Cargando said:Any formula designed to 'find the missing side' (or angle) in a shape. 0.999... = 1 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.85789]Fbuh said:Well, it's not a formula per se, but the entire concept of 1/3. 1/3 basically negates all logic that mathematics are based upon for the simple fact that one-third equals .33 repeating endlessly. If you put three one-thirds together, all you get is .99 repeating endlessly. That is why I hate mathematics. I refuse to acknowledge it as logic or intelligence becasue of this. You can't split something into three parts, then put it back together to have it be less than it was endlessly repeating forever. You see what I mean? It doesn't fucking make any sense! That and logarithms.
