I?ve just finished playing through all the campaigns and personally i loved the game a hell of a lot more then the first one (okay i liked the characters more in the first). I thought the games visuals where spot on (pc version) and some moments in the game, especially in hard rain, where just amazing.

I would like to hear your views on it, especially if you were one of the boycotters...

It's very good, but a lot less enjoyable as only one of my friends has it (and they are unreliable to play with due to never knowing when they will be on) The game itself is great, but the reliance on a decent team ruins it because bots/randoms are generally stupid.

The level designs are brilliant, the new melee weapons are good, the real new weapons are excellent (Grenade launcher, Chainsaw etc.) as are the new special infected.

The tank should have been upgraded because they are no longer a real threat due to everyone knowing how to take them out easily and the levels being more openly designed than before.

I loved it! Hard Rain was awesome!
It pisses me off because you need the graphics levels set to high to see the rain, but doing so really slows down my frame-rate. My PC technically speaking *should* be able to handle top settings with no issue but no dice.

It's fun and Valve did a great job but those weather effects originally were promised for all the campaigns.

Having just Hard rain with weather effects makes the other levels bland in comparison.

yeah i thought that =/ never know it might get implimented in at some point... i thought the thunder storms added a lot more suspense then fighting at night.

Lemme tell you about my buddy Keith.

This game is pure distilled fun; and with my 4pack-preorder deal I feel like I stole money from valve for this.

Still a meh, if you like a game with Zombie(ie mutants) in a lack luster shooter this be your cup of tea. Otherwise it just won't interest you at all.

Yes aaannnd yes.
Dark Carnival is brilliant -- Did anyone notice that they have slightly different musics? Like, for swamp fever it's played half-over by a banjo, but in The Parish, it's played by a trumpet.

With bots, I'd say hell yes. I've only played Dead Center, but that was just brutal. Especially level 3's rolling crescendo. Normally cutting down six zombies with a single slash of my katana would be gratifying, but not when they are replaced with 25 more. Bots couldn't keep up and I was an idiot for carrying defib paddles.

I need my friends to play with me or I'm going Easy.

L4D2 in my opinion is way better than the 1st one. THe levels seem longer, and all the weapons start to add a bit more variety for me, plus, this game is definantly harder than the first one

I thought that Valve definitely put a lot of work into making this game awsome. It just dosen't feel like the same game to me though. I understand that it is still a Left 4 Dead game, but the diffrence between the two almost seems colossal.

I'll admit it, I had my doubts about Valve pumping out a sequel so soon, but the game is great and could proably stand alone without the first. I still miss Bill and Louis though.

Dark Carnival with all 4 of us was so awesome. We all ended up having to play every single little game in the carnival. The shooting gallery was pretty funny with 4 people.

Really awesome game.

I don't like that I have to turn my settings up to see the rain on Hard Rain, since it makes my laptop cry a bit, but the entire game is amazing. Such an improvement on the first.

I played left 4 dead 2 and I must say that I was not at all disapointed. More scenarios, more zombies, more fun. If your going into the game to always win your going to be sorely mistaken, the game is more difficult and you have to have a top notch team in order to do very well against other players. I think the playing feild is more level in verses mode too, mostly in that both teams are very likely to fail as survivors. I love the new infected too, I'm the nastiest spitter ever and I'm quiet proud of that lol. There is something about waiting in the shadows in the distance for a boomer or a charger to fuck over or incapacitate the survivors then spitting on them from fifty feet away that is SO satisfying. For me the big appeal is verses mode, playing as the spitter, boomer, and charger. The jockey is fun too but god you have to have paitence and stealth.

Yeah, from a gameplay perspective the game is a considerable improvement on the original. The new guns are more than just reskins of the old ones, there's more and tougher zombies and the climax events are bigger, tougher and more original than just "push this button and shoot zombies until they stop spawning again". The characters are taking a bit longr to grow on me than the original 4, but that's a secondary consideration and they're not bad.

On the other hand, the Australian release is a farce. They didn't even bother censoring it properly before resubmitting it to the OFLC for ratings, they just stuck us with the German version of the game. Which means the fucking zombies are fading out of existence even before they hit the ground like were shooting enemies in a goddamned 8-bit NES title and -get this- burning infected don't even burn! How the hell are we supposed to know which of them are just staggering forwards in their death throes and can be ignored and which have actually skirted the flames and need to be shot? That's an example of the censorship actually affecting the gameplay. Fuck Michael Atkinson.

Just got it today, didn't get a chance to play it much but I did manage to squeeze in the Dead Center campaign. I quite liked the new spin on the last stand, rather than waiting for a predetermined time you had to collect the stuff yourself, which was quite nifty. Also the new guns make the game feel more realistic, and the gun shop was just... exquisite.
