Left 4 Dead on Expert = Rump Rape

Playing this game on Expert will really bring an uncomfortable chill to your spine everytime your hear that certain roar of a zombie hord closing up on you and your terrified teammates.
And believe my words that when the horde is backed up with serveral Boomers, Smokers and Tanks you are in for the equal treatment of dropping the soap in a all-male prison.

This however has an upside, and that is the game giving me probably the most authentic and accurate experience of a zombie-outbreak and the zombies aren't the Resident-Evil kind of zombies, hell no - these Zombies are the equal kind of Snyder's 2004 Dawn of the Dead that - excuse the foul language - Don't Fuck Around.
I wouldn't want to play this game on any other set difficulty level for the sheer ruining of the atmosphere and scare.

What is your experience playing this game on Expert/Higher Difficulty with or without friends and have your fears also been unleashed?

Well, I know on Versus my team got hit by 3 Tanks one after the other, all the while having boomers explode on us, fighting a horde of zombies, and a Tank all at the same time... It wasn't pretty.

Btw, How the fuck do people 1-shot tanks/witches?! Some people just randomly shoot and 1-shot-kill them, others you can aim perfectly and they still rape your face.

Not exactly the same experience here - playing on expert, which i always do with more of less the same group of friends, seems ramp up the chances of annoying BS - and by that i mean smokers getting you from around a corner and through a door and 3 windows using the one pixel you were occupying on its 'screen' or the hunter that will invariably lunge through a well aimed shotgun shell to the face, but not through a rifle butt.

However much it promotes teamwork i dont think the only way it should do that is making you completely screwed on your own without exploiting the melee

I had that happen to me once with a Which. I don't know how I did it, but I was using the Double-Action Pump Shotgun and I accidently shot the Which and she died in one shot. I have no idea how I did it. I tried to replicate it by trying to snipe a crying Witch in the face on another level, but the result ended up in me getting my behind handed to me.

So I have really no idea! Headshots whilst she's charging at you maybe?! (Good luck with that!)

Probably not against tanks (though I swear I saw someone do it once), but against witches yes. There is even an achievement for it.

In the second part of No Mercy, me and some friends were near the safe room, I got boomer biled right near the entrance to the safe room, and a glitch spawned a horde as well as a tank inside the safe room as we closed the door, soon as the next chapter started, we got royally butt-fucked while trying to heal up.

I've only played expert once, with a few random guys. It wasn't pritty. We were in the underground in no mercy. A tank appears. The rest of my team mates dont shoot him. They run. They run all the way back to the safe room. I was ofcoarse raped-on lube, then the assholes whole had left me where cornered and raped in the toilets.

I need to get some friends together before I even try expert again.

The main thing I don't like is the fact that the enemies get stronger instead of there being more of them.

That aside me and my friends were pretty successful in running away a lot more then fighting off all the zombies in one area. However, this strategy fell apart for those segments where we had to fight off a hoard.

Really I am not sure what the best way to deal with the higher difficulties, possibly have a team that are all very proficient with the sniper rifle.

Seriously? I didn't know Whitches would attack you if you used the in-game communicator.
I knew that they would attack if you made too much noise i.e shooting someone nearby, running nearby or dropping something or hitting a switch. I never thought that they woud attack like that

Easiest way to one-hit kill a witch is to crouch walk behind her as close as possible without touching her, and shoot her straight in the head. I believe it's also possible to do with a well placed sniper shot.


Tanks, however, are impossible to one-hit-kill unless an admin cheats.

I've only beaten Dead Air (and was the only one that survived) on Expert and it was pretty much dumb luck, and Blood Harvest is bloody insane on expert (only got to chapter 4), and No Mercy's finale makes me cry myself to sleep at night. After hours of trying that level of course.

It does both. There are definitely more zombies on higher difficulties. They are stronger and need to be hit in the head or groin (unless it's the hunting rifle) to be put down quickly.

I haven't even made it to expert... We played No Mercy on advanced with four people and barely made it to the end every single time. I've never played a game which provided players with fewer health packs than Left 4 Dead. There was a point in the hospital where it just became stupid to check every single room and waste ammo clearing it to try and find health packs when there wasn't a single one. And after all that we made it to the end and just gave up after a few restarts, it was just too difficult.

The Witch has never really presented much of a problem for me/my team mates. We just use co-ordinated fire to kill it quickly.

The Tank on the other hand...
That bugger is cheap. Even with four people firing on it it still seems to just absorb bullets, the way it picks on one player regardless of how much everyone else is shooting at it hurts too. You would think there would be a slightly deeper way of killing it than 'point guns, pull trigger',

It actually goes for the closest person to it. Also there is a slightly deeper way.

Ever try to mele a tank? Only takes 8 hits. Ofcourse as soon as you hit it, it switches target to you, but tis fun!

HAHAHA, that's happened to me as well!!! Fortunately, we were able to kill the tank pretty quickly, so we didn't get screwed that bad.
