ok

I just read "The sacrifice" the comic that acts as a preaquel between "Blood harvest" and "the sacrifice"

I am now mentally scard....depressed and unable to play left 4 dead for a long long time (and yeah...I cried)

so Now I desperatley need to know

I understand in "the passing" in left 4 dead2, the orginal survivors meet up with the new survivors

but what happned to the orginal survivors? did they finally find the island? what happned after EVERYTHING? will the carriers be able to go back to society? is there any end to this?

The sacrafice happens shortly before the passing in left for dead two, which involves the second group of survivors working with the first in order to lower some bridge so they can drive off, as far as I know, official left for dead cannon is the second group is going..somewhere, and the first group is still on that bridge, louis wounded, bill dead, so on so fourth. So in other words, nobody really knows whats gonna happen.

It's not a big deal, not even all that important of a story, gotta calm down brah.

Edit: Chances are left for dead 3 is supposed to close up both teams stories, I cant immagine they would just keep throwing more cliffhanger ending survivor groups at us.

Left 4 dead really didn't have a plot, and if it did it was so vague that I didnt catch it, and im Someone who looks for a story. 5 ultra vague and repetative campaigns, nothing much else, make something up.
Left 4 dead was one of those games that I really liked at first, but after about 15hours I realised that i wasted my money on a game that simply wasn't for me.
orginally each campgn was not coneccted in anyway

now they go in order then they added the sacrifice

I did read the comic, the day it came out. They make it to the island in that, but the story is different in the actual game, since the comic never mentions the other group of survivors who pass through after bill dies but while they are still on that bridge, you never see them get on or mention any kind of boat in the actual mission, so its two different outcomes.

And no it didn't make me cry at all, Ive had plenty of games, books, anime, that made me cry, and this didn't, granted it could all come down to personal taste.

But really man, "i cant just forget the horrors I saw"? Dont you think your blowing this out of proportion a little? Its a comic about zombies, we have seen this scenario before.

At the very least you need to go experience some real literature, good writing has a tendency to evoke the emotions it was intended for very well (obviously), but if something like this has you losing your shit, its likely your just not used to being affected by things.

yeah I am I know, I was kidding

I didnt even expect to care (I was just examining the thing for the art) but then I got into it and I mean I already care about the charachters and everything and it just made it depressing because unlike the game there was real drama and a plot and everything...it was sad (except the boat full of witches in bikinis that was funny)

and now I cant bare to play the game again because it reminds me of the serious side of a zombie outbreak as seen in the comic (as I just said before the comic had its funny moments though)

I do get your point though, the comic was fairly sad, it never really bled into gameplay for me, but it was fairly chilling while I was reading it. it may have also had something to do with the fact that I had just finished watching Elfin Lied like a few days before the comic came out, which bassicly turned me into a bawling invalid for about two weeks xD, couldn't really fit more sadness.

As an added note, there's another 4 player coop zombie survival horror..thing, coming out sometime this year called Dead Island, and its apparently supposed to focus on the story aspect and challenges of surviving more than just old fashion zombie killing, basicly left for dead with an emotion/storyline driven curve, probly something you would take an interest in.

I was about to say I thought the comic showed the remaining three finding an island. I have to agree though, the comic was excellent and pretty scary, especially as it reveals without a shadow of a doubt how dangerous green flu is. Infectious in seconds. Evolving and mutating daily. Capable of spreading through air, contact, or bites depending on how evil it feels today. Humanity would be screwed.

They talk about boats all the time in The Sacrifice ("it's gotta be a sail boat")and the one they find and move under the bridge is right there in plain view in The Passing (and on the other side in Sacrifice, I believe). The Sequel Survivors drive off to Dark Carnival, so obviously the comic-plot picks up right afterwards.

I personally didn't care for the comic. It was just too gruesome for my tastes. It's not that I couldn't handle it, just that it felt unnecessary. The games rarely get that gory, and it just felt like the comic was doing it more for cheap shock value than anything else.

Anyway, from what I remember, it's implied some time has passed between Bill's death and the three original survivors finding the island. It's entirely possible the events of "The Passing" happen in this interim.
