i think they are doing it because profits are down and the investors are getting antsy and are preparing ready to pull out so they are trying to distract them from things like money and dialing up the whole christian thing up to 11
and yes i know it sounds stupid but religious people are not known for their intelligence

Don't call Left Behind Games Christian. At least the book series they're based off focuses far too heavily on an unsupported version of the apocalypse and vengeance than God and his message.

http://slacktivist.typepad.com/slacktivist/left_behind/ This blg explains it nicely.

Also, @Kaymish, don't worry you're allowed your opinion and it's, sadly, an opinion probably held by a lot of people and I'm not going to hold it against you, particularly not considering the stories you here.

And I hope you realise, it's mainly a bad case of only bad news making the press. The majority of Christians dedicate their lives to loving God and prioritise helping other people over their own comfort in a small way which doesn't bring attention to themselves (naturally it doesn't always turn out like that). Just idiots make news and in the case of Left Behind, sell books.

Isaac Newton and Gregor Mendel (father of genetics) were Christian. I became Christian a couple of years ago after reading the bible a few times and being amazed at the cohesiveness and moral teachings and I've got okayish grades and study maths at a decent Uni and several people in my church run companies, are engineers, are important managers in the NHS, although you tend to get a large focus on teachers and it's wrong to judge or reject anyone in accepting them into a church value because of something stupid like intelligence. We are all born with different gifts and it's learning the humbleness to use them as best suits others that counts

Wow, they look like shit. Not ragging on Christianity here, but anything marketed as the Christian something of anything, is shit 99% of the time. Only good thing I can think of is Stryper, and they're just okay.

Probably the same for other religions, though.
90% of everything is crud. Sturgeons law. I guess religious stuff just has a smaller user base so the actual amount of good things is smaller. Plus it must be hard for non-christians to connect with a message they don't really accept/know

I read and enjoyed the Left Behind books a great deal, so I was excited to try the game out. After about six hours of dealing with the most clumsy and bug-ridden mess I think I've ever seen I gave up on torturing myself. Don't see myself ever going back to one of their games. It was that awful.

Can I have a fighting game where I play Cameron GIRAT Buck GIRAT Williams fighting against Nicky Alps Karakoram Adirondack? My special attacks will be award-winning similes, job avoidance, sucking up, and capital-D Deus ex machina. Nicky's will be oddly unused mind control, paralyzingly dull speeches, scenery chewing, the indwelt power of Satan (or perhaps Snidely Whiplash), and the loyalty enforcement facilitator.

Winner gets to cut to the front of the salvation line while everyone in the line watches jealously.

In round 1 we work together to beat up some random people because God wants me to.
In round 2 Nicky just loses.

Well I happen to know a fundamentalist pal of mine who enjoys video games... although I don't hate him enough to try to get him to play any of these. -_- Also, notice that the comments on the video are disabled, I'm sure we can think of a reason for that...

Maybe I'm just being sensitive, but is there a reason for this news post besides, "Haha, look at the stupid Christians"? If they were releasing a new game or something I would understand a news post, or if this option was open to the general public, but since when do we announce that a game company is giving games only to people who have invested in it? Somehow I doubt this is the only company to do something like giving games to people who support it financially. So is there a reason this was posted, or is it just to get some lulz from a religious group?

Ummm...I personally regard giving your investors your own product as a bad sign. What if it's to cover up for a lack of revenue?

I hope they do well.
You mean this?

Im guessing the gameboy one is the same as the NES one?

Basically, the offer is being extended to investors because it wants to show off its new downloadable game software, which "protects games through the use of database checking activation codes."
They're being secretive. The truth is they've found the greatest most indestructable form of DRM ever concieved.

Making games nobody wants

I hate the Left Behind people. Hell, even regular Christians hate the Left Behind people. They're as bad as Westboro for selling the wrong damn message. Jesus spoke a message of kindness, love, and mercy. I don't see that in any of their books or "games".
Whoa, there. Nobody is bad as Westboro. And if you went to the funeral of someone you loved dearly and had to put up with a bunch of dickheads chanting about how it was their own fault and yours that they died, and not even being able to legally remove them from the premises, you'd know it.

Fuckers picketed the funeral of Mister fucking Rogers, for Christ's sake.

I'm all for "to each their own" but comon! Talking about online activation like it's the wave of the future or something, it's been done to death in more ways wrong then good. I think their name speaks for themselves "Left Behind", that sounds about right.
The religious being behind the times? Who would'a thought?

In all seriousness, I'm glad they're catching up now. It took hundreds of years and we're still not at acceptance of basic science. It only took them a few years to get to online authentication.

I beg to differ:

You're still not completely wrong, a lot of Christian media (movies, music, and these games) does suck, but some of it is OK.

But games? Really? 99% of games are about killing something for the fun of it, from jumping on heads in Mario to killing everything in Duke Nukem. I don't think video games and Christianity mix very well, but maybe there is a diamond in the rough somewhere.
Ehh it's ok I guess. I'll stick with Hasidic Jewish Reggae though.

I love that Americans will ***** about a child's toenails being painted pink, but that this is fine. I don't mean to bash Americans - although I frequently do :p - but this is coming a tad close to hypocrisy.

I'll take a game from 1992... AND DOWNLOAD IT!!!!
Seriously, does this even approach warranting these levels of melodrama and Ominous Latin Chanting?
