I wasn't that old when i played it and my memories shit for everything except games. I remember it being a boring rpg with turn based combat. coincidentally my dad walked in who had played it and said it was good but just another rpg.

but meh, i was like 8
That's one way to look at all of em saddly enough the biggest thing that these games had that we don't have now (other than an actual story to play through and a diverse and believable history) is that god awful battle menu action > type > target in that way they all were the same...
well it's better than were FFXIII took it too crappy story and even worse turn based/fast action combat that i don't think anyone liked
And if you dont mind me saying, halo had a good story in my opinion. but thats beside the point[
I wasn't trying to take away from Legend of the Dragoon as much as point out the major weakness of turn based gameplay.

Halo had a good story you're an enhanced soldier without a face to your name trying to stop the end of life due to a zealously religious group of aliens you need to kill to stop. . . I think I just covered the entire storyline minus subplots. . .

FFXIII had it's own special kind of insult associated with it... Seriously would be nice to have game developers treating us like we are somewhat intelligent and want to THINK now and then... Average gamer is 35 not 12!
Wow, you didn't scratch the surface of the plot, just the game play dumb ass.
If you want good games just buy old ones or watch a movie. If you want a good game, play legend of zelda, because it's plot is basically stop the bad guy save the world and the princess
I played all three games, and yes, that IS the storyline. He got it right. The "gameplay" is run and shoot shit. Not save the world. And I don't think you need to call him a dumb ass because his opinion of a game is different than yours.
Thanks for the backup and I wish I wasn't right, seriously I wish that was talking about the game-play of such a successful series... I did play through it though. It'd be nice to see an actual paragraph long story be nothing more than a joke. Even if I summed it up in a sentence.

Honestly I mean it I wish the guy who's shown the depth of his character through his language actually had a point to what he was saying. The good news is Zelda game-play wise is exactly what he is saying it is though but it actually has a bit of a story to it not much but there is one there but more than that each game (of Zelda not Halo) has had a bit of history with it too.

Still this post isn't about halo Zelda or Final fantasy 13 it's about an incredible game with a huge backdrop of history cultures and believable interactions between the two leading up to a tragic war of biblical proportions that effects everything in the near future and an ancient evil being starting to hatch plans years in the making. All while several different species struggle to survive and exist in a world where the flows of life and magic are dwindling with little reason and those who held the power to control dragons have vanished.

Hows that for a paragraph just talking about the backdrop for the game ;P
Hahahah. [WIN]
Ok, show me another video game series with more than 5 full length novels
Fine. dotHack series. Has MANY novels. Dragon Age has made several novels. And Halo novels are the same thing as the game: Saving a giant ring of a planet from aliens with funny shouts before they die. The movies are the same. Halo: REACH is the same. As is ODST. Just because a game releases five novels and three or four movies doesn't mean it's amazing for the storyline. Hell, people mostly play Halo for the online and multiplayer. Or at least all the people I know that still play that outdated game. I could go out and write novels for fucking Barbie's Adventure Land, or whatever, but that doesn't make it a great game.

I swear you have never read one novel you idiot. many have nothing to do with the actual halo's just the universe. Do your research before you make a stupid comment. oh and i never heard of the dot hack series and dragon age orgins can also be summed up in a 3 words, not even a sentience needed. Dungeons and Dragons. seriously, it had the same plot as 500 campaign manuals. it's not original.
No one said Dragon Age was original. And see, you never heard of other games having more than a few novels when there are, so don't call me dumb for not giving a damn about the Halo universe that people blow a nut over. And seriously, name-calling? Are you five? I haven't insulted you once, when, my good sir, I could say many to you as we speak. Maybe because I know how to be civilized? Just calm down. This isn't even about Halo. If you want to talk about Halo, gather your little pals and make a new thread.
I never heard about a fantasy novel coming out? wow, wonder why? oh yeah, their every were and i doubt many other people do either. and the only reason i kept this on is because you don't know shit about what your insulting. Next time stay out of it because the guy i started this with did.
