Hello escapists.
I've been wondering about this term 'legitimacy'
It has been used many times in many different forms, such as the legitimacy of rulers - divine right of kings, leading to the legitimacy of brand named products.
What in your eyes can be considered 'legitimate'?
Do you think that since a mandate from heaven is no longer 'legitimate', there is no way for a monarchy to exist?
What other ways exist for 'legitimizing' a monarchy, or for that matter other actions that seem morally 'wrong', depends on your sense of morals.
And finally, how do moral values tie themselves to the term 'legitimacy'?
My views are not so easy to agree with, so read with caution.

My answers:
1. Legitimacy is a hard word to define because it differs from a person to another. In my opinion in order for something to be legitimate it needs to be something that I accept morally, but since I have no 'moral values' I can accept anything.
2. A monarchy these days cannot exist since the sense of individualism rules the land. In the past religion subdued most of the population but now everyone wants a voice, and a democracy is the only way ( till we find something better) to govern ourselves.
3. Like I said earlier, in order for you to legitimize your actions you need to show me the motive and the action, and if it is 'morally acceptable' I would tend to agree with your actions. Since in the internet there aren't any people judging me that might be my brother in law I can say that I would accept any action as long as it doesn't hurt me personally.
4. Like I said earlier, moral values come hand in hand with the way earch person views the word 'Legitimacy'.
