I was reading this article [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.239896-Lego-Mega-Mans-Robot-Masters-Appear] today about someones 3D Lego Megaman designs. It wasn't until the last sentence that I realized he was imagining a video game. The whole time I was thinking of the 3D creations as concept for real Legos. As I read I was imagining building actual Lego sets designed around the Megaman Universe and the idea thrilled me.

It wouldn't have to just be the old 8-bit Megamans either, it could be any of the various Universes created (X, Legends, Battle Network, Zero, etc). I think there is a lot of potential and would love to see something like this happen.

So my question is this; what do you think? Would/could physical Lego sets based around Megaman be interesting or fun to build? Outside of the cool factor of a finished set that is.

(I think its searchbar approved, but this is my first thread. I'm a long time lurker, relatively new poster)

Edit: Poll didn't work, I fail
Edited again for additional clarity.

I don't see much point given how blocky everything already is in nearly every MM universe.

Megaman is just not compatible with the style of game the Lego series goes for.
Really? Platforming, creating vehicles out of nothing just to drive and shoot for ten feet, changing outfits to complete platforming/boss fights, enemies exploding into sprites/small pieces. If there were ever a character who were to work extremely well in a Lego game it would most certainly be Megaman.

That's what I was thinking. I am sure a lot of the games levels would have to be ignored based on being either boring in Lego or impractical, but with so many different universes to explore I would imagine there would have to be some cool sections they could take and turn into awesome sets.

I think you more proved my point than anything. I am asking if you think making actual physical Lego sets around the MM universe is a good sounding idea. If its blocky already that just means it can translate easier to Lego form.

That's what I was thinking. The idea of a Lego Megaman video game doesn't sound too amazing, but the idea of Megaman Lego sets made me, for lack of a better term, squee at the thought.

You misunderstood me, I realize I was rather unclear in my post and have edited for better clarity (I hope). I was trying to ask if you thought the idea of Megaman themed Lego sets was a bad idea, not a Lego themed video game. The poll I had ready was a little more clear on that, but because of my inexperience it failed to post along with my topic.

True. I think the X universe would be fricking awesome in a game.

I would say that the X universe is one of the ones I am least familiar with (owned an NES but never an SNES), although I have played some of the PS2 ones and they were quite fun.

I think the original and X universes could work perfectly if done right in Lego. Each stage is always different from the others (within their individual games of course), interesting looking characters, neat items. The x universe even further so with adding more to the setting, vehicles and powered suits of armor and a larger cast of characters (I think).
