All these Lego games are just the same shit with a different coat of paint. How about just skipping the Lego bit entirely and using the theme to make a fresh experience?

Because there's less money in it that way, and companies like this are very, very greedy.

Clearly that's the publisher's reason. My question was framed more to this forum and why people would actually want to see more of these games.

How about lego ..legos...like a city you build customize with blocks. Build a plane you can fly, rockets fo to space, build a pirate ship you can rape and pillage...well maybe just pillage. You get the idea.

Grand Theft Lego? ... And pirates and spacemen?

I think in a similar thread someone suggested Lego Manhunt.
That'd be cool. Think about all the makeshift Lego weaponry you could use.

LEGO® SimCity would be pretty neat. Use some of the classic Lego Town sets from the 1980s to create something like what my cousin Brian had on the floor of his house's study when we were kids. He (and his dad, my uncle Jerry) had a lot of fun building a grand metropolis, and with a little help from some adhesives, the best buildings became permanent fixtures. To do that with a computer game (so you wouldn't have to buy what looked to me like about $10,000 worth of Lego bricks at today's prices) would be cool.

(as an aside, Brian ended up becoming a structural engineer---guess all that money his parents spent was worth something after all!)
