So, I was just thinking about stuff I've learned from videogames, jokingly, and I realised that, of all things, Guitar Hero taught me a lesson that has stayed with me. Guitar Hero taught me that if you find something completely overwhelming, then trying to continue will only fluster you more and you will inevitably fail, like when you juggle too many things at once. If you're flustered, then take a step back, take a short break, think, then get right back on track. You may not get all you want done, but you'll do it.

So, my question is, what lessons have you learned from unexpected places?

It doesn't have to be from vidjagames, so go wild with your stories.

Perhaps its a lesson to give more oppertunity for discussion?

Probably because not many people realise when they learn a lesson and so its hard to find the exact moment when you did.

Super Mario Brothers: Never jump where you can't see. It works on a more philosophical level too.

Real Life: Never give an eight year old a gun. Marking the third time I've had one pointed at me...
