A while ago, I came across a Swedish film called Let the Right One In. It was about a little vampire girl who moved into a town and made friends with a little boy. It was based off of a book that came out a year before Twilight came out and ruined vampires, and it is also one of the best movies I've ever seen in my entire life. The acting was incredible, the story was great, and it was an all around enjoyable movie to watch. I would talk about it more, but I would end up giving away spoilers and I don't want to ruin this incredible movie for you.

Well, I was searching on Yahoo Movies and found that they were making an American remake of this movie called Let Me In. That has got to be one of the worst ideas I've ever heard. With all the Twilight clones coming out nowadays, people will immediately put it off as a Twilight clone, disregarding the fact that it came out first. It will probably ignore what made the book and original movie so good to appeal to Twilight fangirls for a quick buck. I hate to see one of my favorite movies be turned into generic media trash. I even read that he's not even going to follow a lot of the original storyline and try to make it PG-13. This is disappointing to me...

What does the Escapist think of this?

I have Let the Right One In on my to watch list, got the DVD ready and everything. Yet for some reason I can't get myself to watch it.
I need to get a bunch of friends over and watch it with them or something.

Also, America needs their own version of every movie. God forbid people find out there's actually good movies made outside of their country in languages they don't speak. They might have to read subtitles!

You should just watch it. It'll really suck you in and you won't want to stop watching it.

Sarcasm aside, though, one reason I like Let the Right One In is because it has a small fanbase. I'm glad that I don't see 12 year old girls wearing LTROI shirts and constantly talking about it or it might ruin the movie for me.

Wait... it's Swedish? I thought we only made Detective stuff and things like the movie Princess (*shrug*).

I haven't seen it but it sounds awesome. And yes they need to make a American version.
Just put "OH! And by the way, this is not a Twilight copy" in the trailer and it will be awesome.
And for the love of God get good actors!
A reason why it was such a better movie is because the 12 year old actors from it were a hundred times better than the 18 or so year olds from Twilight.

My experience of American remakes is full of disappointment and damaged eyes (not necessarily my own). I feel sorry for the disc-shaped crap that Hollywood will turn this interesting-sounding film into.

And I find myself enthralled by your avatar. It's hypnotic.

Is that a reference to the awesome Wallander?
No, it's a reference to that 95% of all movies made in Sweden are Detective based.
4% are politically correct movies (Princess)
And a puny 1% are good movies (i.e. this one)

EDIT: Forgot; To answer your title: No way in hell you zombie
Well then, Wallander will just go down as one of those 95% of Swedish detective films. They are still pretty good though.

Wow, your avatar scares me.

I've heard people mention this movie before, but I never knew what it was about. I might have to watch it. But is a romantic drama, or is it good?

Vampires shit money right now. If it has anything to do with vampires, expect it to be completely disfigured by executives in a bid to make it more marketable. They are like locusts, soon they will have finished raping this fad and they will popularise and destroy something else.
