My first post here, well it is important to me... somehow.
Seriously, let us be truthfully, one problem of Section 8 is the Landscape of its Multiplayer.
Serving the reason that you can see everyone and everything in a distance of multiple thousand of meters it looks a bit ... well low poly.
But this is not the biggest Problem that Section 8 has.
To come first back to the graphics, looking at the charactermodels, the mechanical design etc. the damn thing is just nice.
There is something with a game where little drones fly at and around the turrets of your base sending little flashes while repairing that said turret.
Not to speak of the incoming deployables that crash down from the sky, spread out and are ready to your liking and do your biding.
But al this is not important, at least not to me, and you really can say something about people who sceam ''it is all about the gameplay, not the graphics'' and then don't even try.
Hm, but to be truthfull about that i am sure that i had the one or other biased moment in my life to.
But let us talk about where the game is pur win, the gameplay.
The tactics, and i don't mean only the battle, but also defending turrets placing supplycontainers who repari them and turrets to defend them and even more placing front forward sensors (huh, you can really bust someones sheld with the sensor like shown in the trailer),
the equipment (more shield for landing INSIDE Anti Air Protectet Terrain, or a bit more dash to some of your weapons bullets, or a sensor blocker who, if activated, does not only block your signals, but also those of them around you, oh yeah, and make clear who takes the repairboost and who repairs the fihgting ones) and all the like is just mindboogling cause i want to take advantage of it all and figure out the best thing.
Think about a game where you have to be thougthfull where to spawn next, wich is by the way MUCH better the the eternal loop of getting killed, respawn, run, kill, get killed, repeat ( as much as i love me some Call of Duty MW and Halo3 Multiplayer ).
A game where the teamplay of the winner team is better then the score of the individual kill score is just awesome and much more to my liking then the average multiplayer One second seen and next second shoot shooters.
There is more to say, endless things abou balancing your armor and more strategies like the possible rigth placing of towers and supply towers who can actually repair them a you, where you refill your armor and where you can change your equipment on the fly (damn i have to stop).
But let us talk about Section 8's REAL problem.
The only thing this game misses out IS A FUCKING BETTER PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTEMENT.
Fuck the drop down feature, fuck the floating around. These are important points BUT the Main Point where the PR should focus about is THE DAMN DEMANDED TEAMPLAY.
Cause this is where the otherwise not so great scoring game just FUCKING rules.
Sorry for the lot Fucks in my text, is normaly not my way of writing but when a good game seems to get not the attention it deserves cause th PR lacks to send a message of what matters most, THE GAMEPLAY, then this irritates me.
Badly.
And damn, this is just the DEMO.
Excuse me, i have to get back, i am sure some poor lad out there is about to die without someone with an decent repair tool in its near, ah and the damn Air Defence turret is probably nearly down again, and we can't have the enemy constantly droping down into our base cause the convoi is close to reaching the base and......
Section 8, you are great, don't let anyone else tell you different.
Now give us 32 players in one Demomatch.
