what ho, chaps, terribly good and all.

But we've, I feel, missed the most important issue - after all, if the seas rise up to swallow the land, as certain scientists (I don't trust em, personally. In my opinion if you use your brain too much it should rot) is it the right time to be investing heavily in boats builders and water based futures markets?

I have a reliable, sober friend in the city who can guarentee a 17% return, no risk portfolio if the seas rise in the next three years. I'm investing everything, every shilling.

Can I interest anyone?

i must say my good fellows that i was ashamed watching the presidential race pass by from the lonely land of the UK to see that poor old Ron Paul did not do so well

I must say, I try to keep myself a little aloof of politics, I quite dislike all persons to deign to lower themselves into its faecal dross. While being a gentleman of Great Britain I have little say in the matter I would prefer it if the populist scallywag that one Mr Obama were to win. Not that I think he's actually any better than his rivals, no, indeed, I feel he is simply the politician with the least cretinous ideas.

*returns to reading a hefty book, probably pictures of animals he's shot*

Oh, and I see Rain's out of it again. You know, I'm quite tempted to draw on his face while he's asleep. Shall I do it, Escapist? Shall I bloody do it?
Oh yes sir, draw the European constitution on his face. That'll show the chap for making a mockery out of our establishment!

*sets a 100 pound note on fire and uses it to light a cigar*

I'm not too sure on this Obama character, seem to be all about this 'hope' rhetoric. We all know here chaps that the plebians have no hope!

While the chap is a ruffian, I must say that his issue is an interesting one. Though, if the proletarians stop reproducing, what will happen to our cheap labour?
Fear not! While it is indeed true that these... homosexuals do not produce offspring, when I let her talk, my maid informs me that in these days the youth of the lower and middle class are having sexual intercouse more and more often! I have no doubt that these mindless acts will provide more than enough exploitable children.
Not my little bumblebee of course, the only boys she's allowed into her room are her study buddies. Although it is quite curious how she seems to have a new one every second day.

I do cast somewhat of a skeptical eye over this Rudd fellow and his populist shennanigans. What is he doing cutting our wealthy baby bonus, my, what if Margret gets pregnant? We'll have to dip into the investment fund to send the horrid thing to the Alps for reformation schooling!

Fie! Bah-Flimshaw upon this Rudd!
By God! That was where the funding for my Entertainment Room was coming from!

Takes a permanent marker (gilded, of course), and scrawls the lyrics to the English National Anthem on Purple Rain's face, including the secret forgotten verse about doing the Scots in.

By jove, I've managed to humiliate both Australia and Scotland in one fell swoop. This calls for a celebratory drink.

Pulls out a bottle of the finest Absinthe.

Yes, those Frogs may make piss poor soldiers, but 'pon my soul they know how to make good spirit, what?
*monocle pops off*

You are making a mockery of the fine institution of "The Escapist Magazine Forum" by acting like such a deliquient and furthermore you have insulted my country. I challenge you to a duel!

Penises, at dawn.

Edit: or pistols. Whatever.

Good Lord, it seems that there's a horde of angry Scot's outside with claymores and flamethrowers. Do go see what they want Willsborough, there's a good chap...

*Willsborough returns and whispers in Fondant's ear*

Oh... really..... fifteen times you say.... Excuse me, Earl J-e-f-f-e-r-s, but there are some gentlemen at the door to see you.

*Turns back to Vesus*: Oh yes, I've heard that soon there will be so many of these ill-educated slobs that soon we will have so much cheap labour that we will never have to pay the minimum wage of a half-penny an hour....

Not to worry! One time I mistakenly thought I was at the Gentleman's Brothel down at Oakley Way, I was absolutely the most embarassed I have ever been, and my lovely wife's mother was positively shocked to find I tried to pay her afterwards. Oh well, good stories for the grandchildren and whatnot.

And thus the Steampunk RP was born...

I daresay that Mr. Obama has the edge on Madame Clinton. I do hope he gets the nomination. His social goals seem progressive and his economic ideas as sound as can be expected in this silly race. On foreign policy he's got the most sensible views, much more so than that maverick, McCain.

*Takes a puff on a hornbill pipe.*

If only things worked out better for my dear Ron Paul...

my God, old boy, is John Galt really proposing that a man with socialist leanings is the best choice to preside over the upstart colonies!? my faith in humanity has been shaken to its very core! i honestly see nothing truly positive about the man, all he does is promise "change" without really specifying what change it will be. And every politician promises change, because who has ever gotten elected on the promise of keeping the status quo?

but i suppose such an opinion can be tolerated due to the fact that you too mourn the loss of our Dr. Paul....
