So yeah, I mostly game on PC but I also own both the 360 and PS3. From personal experience, I can say that the console war will never, ever end.
Busting out the PC elitism here, but PC is really the best platform anyway, and if everyone gamed on PC, the war would be ended.
Unfortunately, that'll never happen, since the PC has, for whatever reason, lost a lot of support from the big studios and publishers.
If all the console fanboys could just gang up on people who are mainly PC gamers you could end the console war in minutes.
And it'd be entertaining for me, because I'd love to see someone try and come up with a legitimate argument against the PC as a gaming platform.
So, in summary, the console war can be solved either by everyone coming to PC or by every mainly console gamer ganging up to try and fight every mainly PC gamer.

Not just the 360 has good games though. They all do. And the only platform with 'less than good/average' online play is the Wii.

I prefer the PS3 since I have a PC and between them thats every game I could ever want to play, however I don't mind if others play or like the 360 as long as they don't pay the PS3 out, otherwise I shoot them down quite fast for being dooches.

A better assessment of RicoADF's statement would be to say that games tend to have better graphics on the console they were natively programed for.

Console wars are stupid. Pick the platform that fits your needs and wants the best. Then leave everyone else to do the same. It is as simple as that.

The only difference between the 360 and Ps3 IMO is that that you have to pay to use the 360 online and the exclusive game titles. Thats pretty much it for me.

Boy, for an Anit-Console War thread there seems to be plenty of bashing all around. Let's see if we can find some common ground here.

360: It's faulty, lost in the format wars between HD-DVD and Bluray, and you have to pay extra to go online with it. On the upside I hear that online multiplayer is well worth the price in how it's structured.

As for games, it has a balance issue between the "Purposely HardcoreGames made to capitalize on violence and gore (usually via bullets flying) with the reason or story taking second place in importance. Or third if it's online." titles and the "Reasonably MadeGames that start with a story or concept that aren't made to capitalize on a popular game mechanic, but just happen to fit nicely into one." ones, mostly from what I can say is a heavy "I want to be a badass" Tween players and the College Frat boy stereotype who seem drawn to it. But the games it's known for (mostly online FPS) are some of the best.

PS3: While it's online is free-to-play, I'm under the impression it's not as well structured as the 360's. Never the less it won the Format Wars and has a more varied library then both the Wii and PS3.

Wii: Poorer graphics then the others and a poor online system, but it makes up for it by having the best first-party titles of any console and an emphasis on local multiplayer. It also has the unfortunate curse of being the best console for kids, leaving it a breeding ground for shovelware and an easy target for jerks alike to piss on it in order to make them feel more mature.

PC: Best Online, Best Graphics, Varied games both Triple-A and Indie... but expensive as hell. To keep ruining games at peak performance you ether need to have the money and knowledge to keep building and upgrading your own machines or lowering your graphics to the lowest settings until you can afford a faster machine. For many people, those just aren't viable options.

I own an Xbox 360 but would also really love to own a PS3 as well. In fact, I like all current gen consoles, and gaming PCs. Yeah, the COD map packs spark silly console wars because they're released first on one console and not the other. I suggest everyone turns against the fact that they're selling four maps for $15.

Just putting it out there, but the Wii has some fine first party games that succeed based on their own merits. Like Monster Hunter 3, a fantastic game that Nintendo had seemingly stolen directly off the (figurative) plates of PS3 owners. Heck, Monster Hunter 3 proved that using friend codes for online was purely optional.

So, like I said. Why does it matter that I personally find no use for my Wii other then to play old games? I never made mention of any of the new games, nor did i say they were bad or good. Only that Faceless Mister Kagim only thinks the Wii is good for the Super Nintendo and N64 games?

I know I'm probably sounding like a dick here, and trust me I'm not trying to be. It's just this is sorta the thing I was talking about.

I didn't insult the Wii, or say anything really negative about it. Only that I, personally, only like the Wii for its access to classic Games.

Which leads me to honestly, honestly ask why did it matter enough to you to specifically quote and tell me about how the Wii has some really good games that PS3 owners would like.

Most people who say things like that tend to genuinely not know about some of the better games on the wii.

Personally, I own all three consoles (Or did. I miss my PS3...) and both handhelds. And I GUESS I have my compy. Even though it's almost dead. I'm almost the only person on the forums capable of a (genuinely) neutral perspective on the Fanboy Wars. Conclusion: It's sheer stupidity. Every system on the market has SOMETHING to offer. And has flaws.

Actually, as a thought... People usually shit bricks of rage at me for DARING to EVER speak well of the wii. This is a rather welcome change. Anyways, I guess I'll return to Minecraft.

Umm... No it's not. While you're right about the specific game mattering, by and large, 360 versions of multiplats tend to look and perform better than their pS3 counterparts.

If you are talking about multiplat games developed on the 360 then ported to the PS3 then yeah they look better, but games made exclusively for the PS3 look the best amongst consoles.

I don't think i made an error, or omitted information. Which is why i asked. I just made a general opinion, which can't really be wrong in this case as I am talking about my opinion of said console.

As said, i just find this sort of thing interesting in and of itself.

Though, i can't deny shameless plugs. Seeing as every chance i get I plug Shadow Hearts, a game that's impossible to find now. A fact i save for last once i whip people into a frenzy of how awesome it is...

I actually know about a great deal of Wii games, I'm just not that into them. However I know they are probably really really awesome games. Just not my cup of tea. The few that are i get disinterested due to Motion control. Yes, I'm only 21 and I'm an old fart like my dad who complains that a game only needs one button to be good...

Though, i have to admit if Someone took the Silent Hill games exploration part and really worked at it there could be an awesome game there. Which is a direction i would like to see motion control do more often.

Naw, that would be a bit hypocritical after writing a short essay on how blowing up for differing opinions in gaming is childish. However it was cool to get a response that didn't end with me getting yelled at myself. That's a misconception I've always found a bit odd. Monster Hunter 3 CAN be played using the wiimote, but the best way to play a MH game is, and will always be, using a traditional controller. Wiimote controls aren't "required" to be the recommended control setup, just like friend codes aren't the ONLY way to do online.

I don't think the Console Wars can end while all three consoles are still on the market. It's like Highlander, there can only be one. Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony will have to decapitate the other's console and then absorb their fan-base.
