One game setting that i think hasn't been taped into and deserves more is the western game, as in wild west. I knw call of Juarez did it, but im thinking more like a 3rd person rpg perspective. i think that it should include some features like,
good guys bad guys
costimizable weapons
shooting two different people a once.

what ideas do you guys have?

You mean like Gun? It didn't exactly have customizable weapons - only upgrades - and it didn't have shooting two people at once, but it did have "quick draw" (bullet time) which was about as close as you're going to get without removing aiming from the game completely. It was a very good game, in my opinion. A bit short, but a good game.

I agree though, I love Westerns and I don't see why they've been almost completely ignored by the game industry.

Gun was one of the best games ever made. The only problem I have with it is there wasn't a sequel. Also there wasn't enough wanted posters.

Ah Red Dead Revolver. Now that was a game im glad I rented. Not that it wasnt good enough to buy just that im glad I played it at all coz it was pretty groovy pants if a tad cliche.

edit: was thinking of wrong western game (I seem to be thinking of the wrong game alot lately)

Play Gun, silly.

Otherwise, work for a game developer.
Have fun!

Midnight Cowboy - you could be a naïve male prostitute stumbling around in a sandbox New York City looking for clients.

Good guys and bad guys? That's a little ambitious.
More seriously, I would like a western game that has more wide open spaces and wasteland. I'd like something that can capture that moment at the beginning of Once Upon A Time In The West.
I think games in historical or 'realistic' settings need to be very subtle with the RPG elements, though. They need to feel relevant to the game and the person you are playing as.

What sort of a western experience would you be looking for? Are we going to be hearding cattle and seeing who can spit the farthest, or is this going to be more like an entire game built around the shootout from The Magnificent Seven?

Know what? I've got it. We'll make a faithful version of the movie "Back to the Future: Part 3". Get some modernization and still have room for a shootout and a train heist.

Take "Red Dead Revolver" and now revamp the combat.

There, pretty good western game with a nice amoral Clint Eastwood esque hero.
