"Shell" has launched a powerful new service to get the word out about arctic oil. They have provided a series of images with which users from all over the globe can create their own hip, young slogans to accompany the campaign (essentially getting free advertising slogans delivered to them by strangers via the Internet).

Unfortunately, or not so unfortunately depending on your feelings about drilling for oil like an old-fashion gold digger, this system has allowed a number of miscreants to hound their page with various unsavoury slogans that question and are critical of the oil industry.

As of now, the ad generator service is down, with this message attached: "The Ad Generator is down for maintenance while we address some issues." Well issues you sure have, Shell. Issues you sure have.

If you could still submit a slogan, what slogan would you submit? They always end with, "Let's go." Here are a few of my favourites:
"Some say catastrophe, we say opportunity. Let's go."
"With your help, we can make ice a thing of the past. Let's go."
"Lynch the oil barons? Let's go."
"Admit it, you weren't really using the ice caps, were you? Let's go."

Well would you look at that; you can save the full images. The vote system is still working, thankfully. Looks like the fun isn't over yet.

Who wants to bet on the culprits? 4chan? Tumblr? Maybe even some Escapist?

Oh man, what did they expect from the Internet?
Not that they didn't deserve it, I mean things in the Mexican Gulf are still pretty fucked up, so why should anyone trust them up there?

Different oil companies.

That one was BP this is Shell asking to be trolled ... er ... asking for help advertising.

On Topic...

Some of those are hilarious.

This is one of those ideas that will always sound better in theory. Welcome to the internet Shell.

...really? This is old news [http://work.failblog.org/2012/06/13/job-fails-lets-go-or-not-shell/]. And

Sadly, it?s a fake website.
So that information you post is really outdated.
