Ok so long story short, I have wanted to do a Let's play for a while now but am not sure what recording stuff to use

So could anybody recommend me a good quality (preferably cheap)capture system, that would work with the PS3 and would be available to buy in good old English sterling.

Also while we are on the subject, anybody have any tips for making a Let's Play?

Well if you're really interested in making a good LP rather than just another forgettable series of youtube videos, then I recommend spending 10$ on a Something Awful account and reading their LP forum. [http://forums.somethingawful.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=191] It is the largest source of consistent, high quality LPs. There's a dedicated tech and support thread for all your LP needs and they can give you specific feedback. Just make sure you read all the rules and lurk a bit to get a general idea of how the place works. I'd give you more specific advice about recording equipment myself but I am bad with computers.

Anyways, some advice I have is to make sure your LPing a game for a good reason. Don't just make an LP for the sake of making an LP. Those rarely turn out good. There are a lot of valid reasons to make an LP. Perhaps it's to show off a neat game that people overlooked. Maybe you want to express your thoughts on a game and hear what other people have to think as well. What you SHOULD NOT do is just make an LP becuase everyone else is and you want to be internet famous.
