Let's play. Civilization 2

Civilization 2. One of my favourite games ever. For the people who dont know Civilization is a game in which you start out with 1 settler (or 2 depending how lucky you are)build your first town,find the other inhabitants of your world. Build your empire,make friends and enemies. Conquer the lesser civilizations in your thirst for blood and glory, or be the first to win the space race and colonise another planet.

This journey will be long and full of danger, Death and destruction will come, Civilizations will rise and fall. Will you join me on this adventure of epic proportions.

Now for the role play bit. I'm looking for people to be my "advisor's" This should have to be people with a basic understanding off the game but not required at all. These "Advisor's" will advise me onto who to ally and who to not. Should I invade or retreat.

I will also be looking for some names for my future towns (nothing rude please).

Thats defo enough roughly the same sept civ 4 has some more advances,units and wonders. But Civ 2 just has that nostalgic factor too it.

Day 1: 4000BC
I Rogun... me risen to leader of "english" i no wuss i leader fo reason!

Our knowlede is good... Tronk over ther lernt that mixing these too prety rocks with fire make a weapon we use to kill things better. Tronk smart man... too smart.We decided to start building some settlements in which to house our young an grow my... our empire.

We collected our hunts and shiny objects and we were able to gather enough matterial for 2 settlers. That good 2 is more than 1 *chuckles* i makes self laugh. Our land int good dry barren land aint good for planting and resources,We go explore some more for better land.

We find good land to... that way *points to west* fresh land with a whale it be good for resources, food and resources, clever whales. I named the settlement "London" I think good name do you agree?.

Tronk tell me that we should specialise that we become smarte and more powerfull. i agree (But he still worry me with him smartness) and decide to focus on learnings to write so we can record out development.

Other settler goes to explore and settles close to "london" but does no contest land, I settle on name of "York" sounds fancy no?

Thronk tells me that he developd a system in which we can unnderstand words to what he call "Letters" He call the system "The alphabet" I use it now. It's fancy!

I too have only played Civ 4 but I consider myself quite good at it and I can assure you I will prove a competent and reliable advisor. This looks interesting.

Tell me what you need of me while I try to get into character as a semi-caveman...

Well right now its a bit linear, get more settlers make new towns irrigate land etc etc. But soon im pretty sure i will find another civilization.

I have played Civ 2 several times before but that was ages ago. Will be glad to be an adviser though provided you point me in the right direction.

By adviser did you mean the "military", "science", "finance", "international" and "entertainment" advisers or did you mean advisers in general?.

Meant more in general but that doesn't stop you from being a warmongering bloodthirsty advisor. Next part is coming up soon.

Day 2: First encounters

Wake up in bed, i not knows how i got here but i do know i must continue to lead my civilization to glory.

After the sucess of the "alphabet" I decide to focus on learning to write better, My science advisor Hink says i should devolp some sort of "money system" I laughed at him what a silly idea, but i am interested i am sick of fightning for my goods.

London decides to split up so we can explore and ceate a new settlement, I dont not agree with him as it has been years sinse we last went out but it leaves london puny.

I make london build a place for us to train our men. We must explore our island i have a bad feeing we are not the only one here.

Our settler gave me a report that we found some ruins of a people.We must explore!

Sucess i say, we found some papers that because im so smart we can read now which contains some knowledge, we get smarter each day.

It contains how to tame horses, i guess they have more use than eating, but i do like to eat them.

I told you Tronk i told you! i know we were not only people on this island, They wish to speak to me but wait... is that a warrior next to my palace? but it is unguarded! i can no lose my palace allready. i must convince them to ally me or i will lose my town. You there... yes you tell Ishtari i will meet with her. I hope this go well.

There are requesting code of laws for map making, This would not be too bad as i would be able to make boats, and anoying her allready will not be a good idea, she will take my town and i will be seriously handicaped for the rest of the game.
What do you guys think i should go. Refuse and play hardball hopeing she does not want to wage war, or allow a exchange in order to save london.

I suggest we make trade. It would give us access to a world wonder, lighthouse and our first sea faring units. The mere fact that we encountered them would mean their settlement is nearby making them a potential ally!.

Or potential to conquer with our horsemen we would easily be able to scout and attack. I shall make the trade and try to ally. For now.

Day 3: We relax for now but not forever.

The empire allows the trade for mapmaking for code of laws. They also ask for bronze working for pottery which i belive is unaceptable. Bronze working is a complex technique. They become hostile towards me and demand i give them bronze working. i refuse they imediantly as for peace. Sometimes you just got to show them who is boss. We ally and they agree to remove there units from london,thats good.

York finishes making there barracks. This is good as i can use them to make my assulting units as they will be more trained than if i made em at london.

I decide to take advantage of our new technolgy and decide to make a horseman, We will be able to explore easier and be able to assult bases.

Tronk tells me that i should now use what he calls "writing" i am finding it dif... dificult but it will make me look smarter. I am smart now.

Looking for a overview, Should i attack the greens. Where should i focus on with my advances. Should i keep making settlers to make new baces or is it frugle to build new bases with good ones nearby that just been to be taken over.

I think you should expand and get another settlement or two, but keep working on building up your military so you can fight the greens if you have to.

The caveman thing sort of went out the window...
