I'm well aware of what they are. After all, this game is called Pokemon!

I don't know why, but I always found this funny. It's like he's gone senile and can't tell boys from girls.

As per the forum discussion, we named our heroine "Raven". Sounds rather gothic, now that I think about it.

So we're sitting in the back of a moving truck? Doesn't seem very... safe. Wait, why are we even in the back of this van to begin with?

So this is our new home town? OK.

I guess this is our mother. Ruby isn't really great at telling you who's who from the start. I guess you're supposed to assume.

And I guess this is our new house. Not a bad place. Only one problem: There's only an upstairs. And that's our room. Where does mom sleep?

WHAT IS IT!

Oh. Yeah. I guess our dad is some sort of hotshot gym leader. Well, our mother wants us to go introduce ourselves to the neighbor's boy.

Nice town. Wait.... There are only two houses. One is my house, and the other is the neighbor's house. Where do these people live?

Now that I think about it, the only road is through this way. Did the truck drive through the tall grass in order to get here? .... How many pokemon do you think it hit then?

And we can't just push this guy aside... why?

This guy doesn't say anything important.

Don't mind me lady, just trying to get this plot going.

Don't try anything, buster.

Wait, your house is just like mine. Where does your mother sleep?

Quick! His back is turned! It's our chance!

And the fat guy is getting chased by a pokemon. Can't lie. I found this funny.

He tells us to grab a pokemon to help him. I've a question: Why don't you carry a gun or something? I mean, this looks like dangerous research. Shouldn't you carry some sort of protection?

We grab a Mudkip and vanquish our foe.

My father who I've heard next to nothing about? Sure, why not?

Yep. The truck had to come through here. How many pokemon did it hit? We may never know.

Ah, so we've got a plot wall.

So this guy is going to be our rival. I think he needs to comb his hair.

Not very hard. It's just trading blows until I win

He's standing right there, ya know? So now we get sent on our pokemon quest. Gotta catch em all eh?

We get running shoes.

Time to catch some pokemans!

Sapphire, then Emerald. I loved the 2nd and 3rd generations. For some reason, I always bought the less popular of the two versions (Blue, Silver, Sapphire, Leaf Green, SoulSilver, and then bucking the trend with Diamond and Black. I also have Platinum and Emerald). Big winged whale thing appealed to me more than angry looking geometry dinosaur, I guess.

Sapphire, then Emerald. I loved the 2nd and 3rd generations. It was about an even split for me.

I got Red, Silver, Ruby, Pearl, and then Black. Oh, and I got HeartGold as a birthday gift as well.

Four points I'd like to address: 1 glad to see something like this happening, the last few haven't made it far enough to actually end. 2 I'm bummed I missed on voting on the pokemon, but oh well. 3 Shiny Poochyena named Barkspawn= A happy Sage. 4 Yay on the Ralts, defiantly one of my favorite evolution lines.

1. I intend to take this to the end. Unless I die, I'll try to do at least 4 updates a week (M/W/F/Sat or Sun). If I die, I'll sadly have to end the series.

2. There will be other chances to vote. Don't worry. You'll get to pick what fossil we get, for example.

3. I name a good number of dogs in video games "Barkspawn".

I was never a huge fan of that combo, to be honest. I taught it to Spiritomb in Pearl, but that's it.

I'd suggest picking a persona and writing first person, they always make screenshot LPs that much better for me at least (I'd vote for using the persona of a some emo kid like Bella Swan since you chose the name Raven). Really get into character, you can make better jokes then. Editing out the emulator bar at the top would be a nice touch too if that's not too much work.

As for your discussion question - I played Emerald I've never owned a GBA so by the time I got hold of my brother's Emerald was already out.

Edit - Oh and let us vote on the names of Pokemon you know you're going to catch sooner or later

That sounds like a funny idea. How about I use Italicized text for talking in character, and regular text for when I want to make comments and critique.

I think I'll make Raven an emo/goth who says things like "Life is pain" or "You're just a tool of the SYSTEM!"

And I'll edit out the bar. I'm working on a program to do that, but if worst comes to worst, I'll do in manually.

If you feel it is too small then up can upscale it in post, but, keep the images correctly scaled. Honestly the original sized looks fine. RedChocobo's pokemon LPs are at source resolution for example.

I'll be updating this thread. At the end of each update, I'll include a question or an ask for a suggestion. Such as what to name a Pokemon I plan on catching. Ralts is the next one.
