Let's Play - Syndicate (2012 version)

This is a Video Let's Play. Me playing through the game with light commentary. This is my little experiment in Let's Play. I'll be honest, I've never done one before, so I look forward to how it goes. Like I said, I'm a rookie at this, and it shows a bit, but I browsed around the web and The Escapist and compiled a short list of what to do. So mainly in my video I avoid doing the following things.

1) Talking all the gorram time!!(I tried to keep a quiet as possible)
2) Talking over important parts of the dialogue.
3) Having a voice higher than a screaming 10-year-old. (No skill required here)
4) Playing in a dull fashion, or incredibly slowly.
5) Gorram Variation! I like to use as many different guns and play-styles as possible.
6) Bad attempts at humour..... Okay, I tried my best here. Some of the jokes fall a little flat, but that's what happens when you record live!

Just to clear up a couple of things.

I'm playing on a PC, rig is a I7 and GTX 260 graphics card. Graphics setting are ??? Seriously, Syndicate doesn't give you any graphics options, it just dumps you in the game and asks you to choose Anti-Aliasing.

I'm recording this using MSI afterburner with special trick to get headset recording live. Thanks to whoever uploaded that vidya to Youtube about how to do it.

Release schedule is ??? Probably Bi-weekly.

And, yes, that is a English accent.

Also I don't talk much about the shooting or breaching mechanics, that's basically because there isn't much to talk about. Seriously, how can I talk about a mechanic that has been around since Jesus?

Wasn't this released just recently? Most of the time LPs are done months or years after they've been released, not just a few days after. It's to allow people to play the game before commenting. I think you should have chosen an earlier game to do your LP for.

Really? Skyrim lp's were everywhere on about day....2?

I always thought Lp's were for people to watch and decide whether they want to buy the game or not. Still, if you're right..... I'll go dig up my copy of Mass Effect.

Man, if you wanna LP a game that's just out, go for it! There's no reason not too, and it means you'll be among the first to do so!

I shall edit with thoughts after actually watching it.

EDIT: RIGHT, my computer crashed after I finished watching and I forgot to come back.

Pretty good show I'd say, commentary was mostly good, quality good, attempts at humour were not quite there yet, but I found it rather endearing never the less :3

From what I've seen so far, not bad! There's a few issues with commentary and the such that should be resolved as you record (bloom!) but first Let's Plays are nerve racking so that's understandable.
And about the timing thing, I'm fairly sure that's mainly on the SomethingAwful forums where they have a 3 month rule. Here on the Escapist and youtube, you should be fine.

Well, I think it only counts if you make an account there. Personally, I like having earlier LPs, saves me having to wait.

And while I mean no offence, what with it being your first LP, I was more talking about how often you mentioned the bloom. I understand that there's a lot, but if you watch some of the Retsuprae videos you'll find that many of them criticise the repetition.
But as I said, just a pointer. Otherwise, keep it up, looking forward to some more!

I will remember for part 2 Although it is really difficult, because everywhere you turn there is bloom!! And Len-Flare!! I mean this game makes Mass Effect's Lens-flare look sensible.

This frustrates me because I see them all the time in the gaming seciton and they get a lot of replies, but when I post them in the user review section (like i'm apparently supposed to) they just sink and die.

Could be I just suck; but I'm incredibly tempted to post some of mine in this forum instead, seeing as how this thread got as many views in an hour as I got in 10 days in user reviews.

I'll get around to watching your Alan Wake LP, as I've always been interested in that game. It sounds like a one-of-a kind game. I hear it got a very good PC port, graphics-wise. And i've only heard good things about the gameplay.

Just your vidyas are a little imposing, being 30 minutes, and the later ones 1:30 hours.

One day I just logged on (i've been LPing for awhile now) and I got a message saying video length restrictions were lifted from my account. I didn't apply or anything like that. So, just keep at it and they'll eventually remove length restrctions!

Doing some math, that one took me probably took about 7 hours and 40 minutes to upload.
I usually do it while I'm asleep or at work

Hurk!! My file is 3.2 gigs before compression. Only about 200mb afterwards. Uploading over 7 hours! Wow!
