Let's Play...

So I've been here at The Escapist for a while now, and I've been wondering: what's the forums opinion of Let's Plays. For those who don't know what that is I'll try my best to explain. Essentially it's when an individual or group of people play through a chosen game a record their progress either via screenshots or video, and mix in commentary either by microphone (live or post-recorded) or through text-writeup for the screenshots. The purpose is both to allow people to experience games they've never played or won't get a chance to play, and to entertain via observatory and/or witty commentary. Anyhow I was wondering if the Escapist community would have any interest in adding LPing to the wide variety of things we do here, as well as if it would technically possible on the mod side (much in the same vein as random battle RPs weren't feasible when they grew too large. I was thinking that maybe they could be fitted into either the gaming discussion or user review sections, and have a degree of quality control.

So to summarize my overly wordy post:
1. What does The Escapist community think of LPing?
2. Should we add LPing availability to the site/could we?

I honestly never knew this type of thing had a name. It could be neat, I suppose-- I hate how my recorded voice sounds, though, so I don't think I would be brave enough to share one of my own.

I've seen a few of the Let's play video and they can be awesome

My voice sounds awful recorded, it takes about 5 years off of my voice and I sound like a really little kid

I've done a few Let's Plays myself, and there's a Let's Play NwN2 on a regular forum I visit. I actually tend to find them fairly amusing to read through (if its Screenshots) although I tend to avoid the video ones.

You should have gone with a poll, they tend to get more hits than amount of posts.
