Hello there everyone.
Now, don't take this as advertizing.

I am a Lets play-er.
A LPer is someone normally on youtube that records himself playing games with commentary over the top.

I am assuming that atlest acouple of members of this site must watch some LPs.

Now, the reason I am here today is to promote my own and to hopefully spark discussion.
I have recently started these LPs on youtube with the account name RAWKPAIN.(Removed the link because of some complaining...) Only putting my name there for people who'd like to look me up and see some of my LPs to leave feeback.
Just hopeing for some Escapist feedback and I'd like to know, who is your LPer of choice? If you watch any.

Any ways I can improve my LPing please don't hesitate to comment etc.

He pretty much defined what a Let's Play is for me, hell I have watched his Phantasmagoria 2 review 2.5 times, an impressive feat when you remember that the Let's Play is 5 hours long. So anyways yeah study those materials, in fact I am going to watch some Swat 4 now.

Topic on this last week, but search does not work that well most of the times.

I love watching lp's myself, I read/watch most of the ones on Something awful forums and I also plan to post my planned one soon; if you check the SA boards I advice the 50cent:Blood on the Sand LP that is going on right now, it is hilarious without commentairy let alone with.

The GruntSoldiers guy is pretty good, and i like his videos because i'm one of those guys who is trying WAY too hard to get recon

I've never done an LP, but I've watched plenty. A few thoughts.

First, in the videos I watched, you seemed to be doing it live - recording at the same time you were playing. I would recommend against that, at least until you get the hang of commentary. Record the playthrough first, then layer the audio over it. This way, you'll be able to think through what you want to say. Less dead space that way. You'll also avoid showcasing all your deaths by only showing your best play.

You also need to talk more about the game while you're playing it. I know that you're focusing on rather well known titles, but you should still talk about what's on screen.

That leads in to my next thought: Have you considered doing less mainstream titles? The games you've selected have been thoroughly covered. One of the highlights of LPing is highlighting more obscure games.
