Damn... some Let's Plays can be quite funny. I remember seeing one for Night Trap... I was actually just curious to see what the fuss was over the "violence" in that game. I wouldn't subject myself to that torturous experience.

Off-topic: What the fuck was the big deal about that game? Didn't see a drop of blood.

Fallout 3 is NOT over-rated.

Actually, it kind of is. It's drastically inferior to Fallout 1 & 2, has arguably the WORST moral choice system in gaming, and a completely pointless VATS system.

Currently a few minutes into the first part of your L4D one. The occasional frame rate drop is a tad annoying, but other then that it's pretty good. I really liked the part about feet.

Awesome, although I just noticed the second guy can be a tad hard to hear, turning it up pretty much solved that issue. Nice work.

The DMCA claim system is automatic and the claims aren't checked for validity. Some of the people attacking Let's Players are even claiming that they own the persons voice.

As long as they don't touch PhantomSavage, Tatsudoshi, PaleVoyager or TheKholdOne, I'm not exactly worried about this.

Youtube has been suffering severely from trolls because the whole copyright claim takedown process is largely automated. Meaning you can take down just about any video you want.

EDIT: In other words, it doesn't matter how much it has to do with actual copyright infringements, just how irritating somebody wants to be. There was a similar thread involving the GMod Idiot Box 9 video that DasBoSchitt just put up.

Speaking as a massive Fallout fanboy, I respectfully disagree... with the idea of it being over-rated, and your first and last points. The moral choice system did kinda blow G.O.A.T., and needed some serious tweaking.

Edit for OT: If they touch Kikoskia, I'll be mad. If they hit DeceasedCrab, we know they're out to smoke every LPer on the site, no question. Either way, this sort of mess is not uncommon on YouTube.

OT: LPs are the poor person's entertainment. I'll admit that, in lieu of purchasing a game, I will watch an LP of it. I am saddened to hear that actual trolls are taking down LPs left and right.

Recently, several semi-famous Let's Players have been taken down off of YouTube, due to copyright claims. The most recent victim seems to have been Chuggaconroy. But according to this article these claims have been fraudulent! Let's Players are under attack by a person orpersons unknown who, for whatever reason, are trying to get them taken down! We need to contact YouTube and get these people back online! Who's with me?

I made a thread on this back when NCS went down. I've been updating my LP user group with news about the situation.

I'm sending tons of emails to Youtube and signing multiple petitions to get them back. I'm with you!

I have never understood why anyone would watch them. Either you are interested in the game so why would you watch someone else play it. Or you aren't interested and then why would you watch it in the first place. Although I am a spoilerphobe.

they are great for walk throughs though. when someone WRITES a walk through it just leaves you confused because they reference stuff only THEY know. reading walk throughs is like reading newton's papers on alchemy. your not gonna get it.

I disagree. I almost exclusively use written walkthroughs if I get stuck. I find them so much easier to use over a video walkthrough. You don't have to scan the video and see stuff you might not want to while you search for that one part. And since time is of the essence when I get stuck (because if I am going to a walkthrough I have been stuck for a while and the rage is set in) I best be finding the answer ASAP.
