I got up at 5am today to go to work. Boss called and said we're not working because of rain.
So I'm drinking.

Tell me your reasons for drinking.

Because dark German lager and Belgian ale is the drink of the gods up high.

All Hail Belgian Ale!
Actually, fuck that. Belgian Pilsner is better.

Because I have a cold, and I felt like drinking, because I haven't done so since... ummm...
Well, last time I set to drinking wine on my own was new year... damn, that wine was nice... I love a good Bernkastel white wine...

Not working because of rain? Wow, where do you work?

I drink because... Er, I like it I suppose. And when I'm depressed I'll drink to knock myself out, or if I'm out with friends.

I'm drinking red wine. It's good for my heart and I get the joy of a good strong Cabernet Shiraz.

This.

Also, i enjoy the taste of alcohol and am a big fan of strong neat whisky, bourbon, scotch, brandy, you name it. Beer and wine is 'okay' but beer is often too bland and samey and wine is best enjoyed with food; neither is stronger than spirits.

I also drink to get over emotional pain. It is also sometimes a cure for boredom.

Strangely enough, having a little alcohol can make me somewhat creative, so i am able to write when i have a glass of Talisker's.

I'm a construction worker. A Stone mason in fact so I work outside and if our mortar gets wet walls fall down. It's for the best I guess.

Ahh, understandable then. I couldn't really think of any work that would be cancelled because of rain. My old school didn't even shut in a snow storm >__>;

Because of the sweet, sweet taste of beer. Sometimes a cold bottle of beer is the nicest thing in the world. I don't even want to get drunk off it, just the taste.
Better if it goes with bacon. Mmm...

For social gatherings it's cider all the way. 3 pints and i've a nice buzz for a couple of hours, and I'm infinitely more chatty and entertaining.

A true writer. Taking your notes from Hemmingway I see.
Heh, more or less. Furthermore, I enjoy a good drink with a couple of friends, but given my past as a bartender I tend to be the one who has to drink the most to keep up with the general level of intoxication in a room. Other than that, a nice german beer on a sunny day while lying on the grass next to a lake near me is a lot of fun too.

Cider doesn't go well with me. I finished off a bottle, got into a fight, stopped by the cops and I broke two chairs.
It's such a happy buzz too. I don't know where I went wrong.

Similar thing happened to me once with Jägermeister, minus the cops though. Now I can drink it without worrying though.
Tequila has been my nemesis for quite a few years though.

My Reasons for drinking are as follows....

~I take a shot of Jaegar to celebrate every sucessful Hell Baal run on Battle.net

~I take a shot when i am pleased with the results of any game I play (single player, online, console, PC, tabletop, board game)

~I also have a drink with my friend's dad, since I was in the Marines and he was in the Navy... and you former Sailors/Marines know how that shit goes down ("fucking Jarhead"... "fucking Squid"... *have a shot of pendleton, Make Marine/navy jokes, laugh, and go on with our day*)
