I don't know about other people, but where I am it's rugby season! I love rugby, but I never see it talked about much and I was wondering who else plays or enjoys the game. If anyone wants to talk about rugby, compare players, positions, strategies, debate, anything like that, well, that's what the thread is for.

If you're really a fan, I've also made a group called Escapist Rugby. The page is http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapist-Rugby if you're interested.

I'll get the ball rolling, if anyone plays what position do you play? I'm generally an all purpose back, but more specifically I play winger and full back.

Aaaah Rugby. Don't really follow it, but have a good laugh playing it at school.
Don't know official names, but I play on the wing.

Good sport to be honest. Probably 2nd on my list>:].

Well Rugby is the national sport of my country(Wales), so I generally take some vague interest during the World Cup.

I definitely prefer it to football, as there's generally more points being scored, plus there's kind of a strategic aspect to it I like.

As for playing it in real life, heck no I'd be absolutely crushed.

I just do not have the physique for rugby (I'm wiry, as opposed to bulky).

Meh, played scrum half most of the time. Not any more, as I don't want my chalky spine broken in, thankee.

Still: Go Sarries! They've had a good couple seasons recently, up from their usual mid-table lazing about.

Prop, tight-head specifically, even though I'm shorter than the rest of the front row. Even managed to play for Munster at underage level :D

I was substitute for my school's lowest rugby team, when they made me play. Saying that, we were the first Under-14 G team to ever win a match. It was my proudest moment.

(Yes, our school went down to a G team...)
