Let's talk aesthetics

How much does a person's looks influence your interaction with them? Are you more willing to talk to someone who is aesthetically good looking and what about someone who is essentially "ugly"? Now let me make this a little more difficult, would you be willing to date someone who is relatively unnattractive in one aspect but tolerable in other aspects? For example, if they weren't bad looking except they have severe acne (like really severe), would you be willing to initiate a conversation with them and possibly date them?

I would assume many here will try not to judge by their looks but how far will that go?

I think it's impossible not to judge a little. That being said, I try to keep an open mind. I judge people more on their intelligence. As in, if they say or do stupid shit, if they act concieted or self-righteous or generally just act like a self-centered prick I'll stay away from them.

I think it's more likely people stay away from me because of my looks, though.

I'll be honest here...if someone is painfully ugly (and I do know a few that are), it may be a little harder for me to talk to them. And I think everyone is more inclined to talk to beautiful people.

On dating people whose looks aren't perfect, it depends on the situation. If I really like their personality but their looks aren't that good, then maybe I will. It's better than dating someone who is relatively attractive but has the intelligence of a starfish (and I've been in that situation).

But I'm unlikely to date someone who I consider to be extremely ugly, no matter how good their personality is. That's just how I am.

I guess it's hard to admit being a bit shallow?
I mean, if you are going to be dating someone, you are obviously going to be looking at that person for a while, so at the very least, I could be pleasant to look at?

I don't care about looks if it's just a conversation or a platonic relationship; but I won't enter a romantic relationship with someone I'm not attracted to. That's sort of the deal with sexuality.
