well since i liked the 99 cap in fallout 2 the more the merrier, it just adds to the sense of exploration if i don't hit a level cap halfway through.

edith says: i will restart a new game when all the dlc is released, i played vanilla NV with a mod removing the cap, something that may not be necessary with the DLC.

I don't think it will be a problem, I am level 40 or 41 I think and am doing stuff in Old World Blues still so Lonesome Road, plus exploring, plus the end, should be enough to get me to level 50.

The final level cap is indeed 50, and getting there is piss easy. It doesn't take much to level you up, you gain bucketloads of XP for killing anything larger than a bloatfly.
depends on wht difficulty you're playing on.

Is it just me that by the 4th DLC of New Vegas your character will reach level 50 if they jeep with the 5 up every DLC. I think that its a little to high. It just seems like the last 10 levels will be inpossible because you are most likely done with all the quest. So what do you guys think?
You would be surprised by the ways of people who can constantly earn XP in games, ie Killing boars in the forest (cookies for reference!)
South Park: Make love, not Warcraft.

"Dude, boars are only worth 2 experience points a piece. Do you know how many we would have to kill to get up THIRTY levels?!"
"Yes. Sixty five million, three hundred and forty thousand, two hundred and eighty five. Which should take us seven weeks, five days, thirteen hours and twenty minutes giving ourselves three hours a night to sleep. What do you say, guys? You can just sit outside in the sun all day tossing a ball around. OR you can sit at your computer and do something that matters... -.-"
*Cue epic music by Paul Stanley*

My GOD I love that episode!! :D :D
You win the cookie back for quoting it. :)

I hit the 35 Level Cap (Dead Money installed and no others) having completed DM itself, all the main quests up to the penumltimate one, every available side quest, many unmarked quests and challenging myself to plunge headfirst into the lairs of the toughest specimens the Wasteland has to offer.

Once Honest Hearts and Old World Blues are completed, I'm really not sure how I'm going to get the extra few levels.

I don't really care about it, I always put my points back. If I had like 250 carry weight, I'd put that to 50. Same with level ups and and the 'skill' points you get for them.

Even on the hardest you still get bucketloads of XP for each kill. It just takes more bullets to do it because apparently Obsidian thinks "Can absorb many hits before dies" = "difficult".
yeah, but some enemies are hard enough without adding more bullets.

My penchant for exploring everywhere and killing damn near everything means there is no worry about high level caps. You just have to do more than the bare minimum and you're golden.

I haven't buy Old World Blues, but i'm 38 right now after passing both others DLC, I haven't grind for expriencie but I have played a lot and discover almost every location. Unless this dlc and the last one give you lots of XP, I doubt you can get to 50.

Unless you got the swift learner perk( Thinks that's the name) where you get 10% extre XP every time and you can take it multiple times.

Yeah, I'm at the cap and it is pretty game-breaking. I also had 300 stimpacks when I went into the Big Empty (my character specialized in Medicine from the very beginning, so I never had to use many of them. And I always make them out of the empty syringes you find everywhere). I'm kind of just playing for the story and to check out the new gear at this point. I'll use the level 30 cap trait next time.

Old World Blues has a trait that caps you at 30. I doubt I will ever get to 50.
Uh, what does this trait actually do?
It just sets the cap back down to 30 (what it was before all DLC). It keeps you from being a Master of Everything and preserves the challenge in the game. I'll definitely use it on every new character from now on.

It's also makes you invincible making chems last twice as long ( and more if you have other perks) and never becoming addicted so never getting a debuff...

Yeah, that preserves it a lot, also you can't take it if your already above lvl 30.

I'm level 47 right now (thanks to the PS3 patch glitch).

Before I bought the DLC I hit the level cap with a third of the game's content to go at least and each DLC has more than enough to boost you through its five levels so lack of XP is never a concern. Being The Demi-God of The Mojave(tm) is.
