No, I don't post here when I'm with friends. But I do when I do my homework. Keeps me from losing my sanity.RanD00M said:So you hang out with friends in school, doing your homework and posting all at the same time?Hubilub said:What can I say, I'm pro at multitasking.RanD00M said:And yet i see both of you post here day and night.Even when it's 2 A.M.Hubilub said:It's just a stereotype.
I have school, I do my homework, I hang out with friends. I have a life. Same with Furburt.
I think it's more of a question of posting comfort rather than lack of other factors. I'm currently between college semesters, have no job, and sit at home practically all day. However, my average post-per-day was higher when I was a full time student, had a part-time job, and before there were user groups. The reason for this is that there were more threads I wanted to have something to say in.Immortalis_sp said:Is it a logical conclusion that these people who gain rapid post counts in a short time are lacking what is rather unscientifically called a life or is there more to it?. Although since you don't have the Landmark badge, I do wonder how much of your posting is done in short bursts, and long periods of radio silence...Taerdin said:And if that theory pans out then I most have the most of a life out of anyone here, less than 900 posts in 4 years? Epic.
A bit off topic, for which I apologize, but I'd like to indulge some curiosity. This post seems to suggest that you feel yourself, and Furburt, are under fire for your posting habits. Even if this post may have been implied that you were the targets, it's just as easy that someone like pimpeter2, MaxTheReaper, or Neonbob were being isolated as well. It strikes me as somewhat paranoid.Hubilub said:It's just a stereotype.

Maybe I am a little paranoid, but yes, it feels like some people target us. Me and Furburt have involuntarily become "famous" here, and it seems that some people blame us for being bad examples for new users, as well as having posts that aren't meeting their standards.NewClassic said:I think it's more of a question of posting comfort rather than lack of other factors. As this post should also explain, I do have a bit of an obsession with larger posts. I'll avoid posting completely if I can't find enough to say to justify posting in a thread, or see that someone else has said what I would. So even though I've been here for a long time (relative to some), and have "no life," my post count is still relatively low. It's just a personality thing for me.
So, to answer the opening post directly, I don't think a high post count is indicative of no life. I think that higher post counts indicate, to me, active participation in Forum Games, RPs, and/or User Groups, and probably a personally-justified opinion for a lot of threads.

Do you feel like you're being singled out by the community? Negatively so especially?
No. Some people could kind of consider mine high and I have college full time and a part time job.Immortalis_sp said:Putting it bluntly I am asking if there is a connection between users with a massive post count and mere joblessness on the internet
So what you're saying is instead of hanging around the forum all the time I'm out living my life?NewClassic said:Although since you don't have the Landmark badge, I do wonder how much of your posting is done in short bursts, and long periods of radio silence...Taerdin said:And if that theory pans out then I most have the most of a life out of anyone here, less than 900 posts in 4 years?
