There are multiple ways to interpret "Life cycles of a thread", explain clearly what you want the thread to be about.

It attracts a lot of attention while it's young (like this one).
Then it either develops a serious discussion or quickly falls into oblivion (like this one will).

When a Thread is born it is given a title of relevance to its parent. Unlike most creatures, the Thread has only a single parent. Before being sent into the world, the young Thread is given some much needed survival tools such as Report buttons, the Thread equivalent of Mace.

As it ages, the thread learns many new and exciting things. But there is one thing the that threatens the survival of the entire species: Trolls.

These malicious beings hide in the shadows, choosing the Thread that appears most vulnerable. The Threads often sense this, and become skittish and nervous. Then, suddenly, the Trolls strike, leaving the Threads reeling and in shock.

Sometimes a Thread will fend off the Troll attack, other Threads may not be so lucky. The weakest Threads will be de-railed for good, their meaning lost in the wrath of the Troll. Such is the ways of Natural Selection.

A lucky Thread will continue and survive for years to come, becoming slowly fatter on its diet of posts, and may become what all threads aspire to achieve: a Stickie.

Godwin's Law: All threads eventually devolve into reductio ad Hitlerum i.e. comparisons to Hitler or Nazis. In other words, the trolls will always prevail.

EDIT: I consider this to be both true and unfortunate.

Its usually around this post count that someone (namely max) will derail it horribly.

Also, i find that infamous is much better than prototype.
I actually don't think Max is on right now.

yeah, I would have mentioned something to do with thread repeating and necromancy

also when trolls overstimulate the immune system that is the posters it can lead to the death of the thread

its a hard life
