so i was looking for a scrap of paper to write some notes on today when i stumbled onto a notepad with these drawings in it:

First thing you'll notice is that i'm not very good at drawing but what you have there is a picture of a bow (archery) and a violin. took me a few page flips and a bit of thought to realize what i was looking at but what i had found was my set of goals that i had outlined just slightly over a year ago including poorly drawn pictures of the objects i wanted to own, the money i wanted to earn and save and the person i wanted to be. every single one of the goals in that notebook had been achieved with only the vaguest intention of pursuing them.
I've read a few books on goal setting and motivation but i truly believe that the trick to achieving goals is as easy as defining those goals and writing them down (probably doesn't hurt to do something about them every now and again).

The other trick i recently realized is time setting. I've spent my whole life saying i don't have time to do things, procrastinating and poorly planning my day, turns out all you need to get something done is just allocate the time to it.
If you say you are going to spend 30 minuets a day practicing juggling no matter what it's like 30 minuets is just magically added to the day, sure you might lose some sleep every now and again but shit gets done and you can sleep when you're dead anyway.

I know both those points are talked about in basically every $2 self help book on the market but actually seeing them in action is like i discovered the secret to the universe.

So escapists what special life hacks do you know that give you an edge in life?

Setting my clock 5 mins before it usually is so i don't be late, although after a while it doesn't work, so its more of a one time deal :p .

Eating when I'm stressed? That might be more of a biological/psychological impulse, but it does relax me, and id rather be relaxed and fat, then stressed and "hungry".

Do you remember Gushers [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gushers]? Little fruit snacks filled with sugar-juicy stuff? They make that in liquid form.. And it's called Hawaiian Punch Blue Berry Typhoon

BEHOLD! THE NECTAR OF THE GODS! GO SOMEWHERE AND BUY THIS! RIGHT NOW! RIGHT FUCKING NOW!

...erm, if you liked blue gushers. If not...it's still really good.

That's pretty cool Lechat :D

I can't really think about any lifehacks of my own.
I just it as lucky, but every summer I have work, I've got into every school I wanted and been able to pursue my goals in life. So maybe similar to you in a way?

I guess many would find my life pretty dull, but I'm enjoying it :)

Gotta agree with the writing things down one.

My phone's clock is about 7-8 minutes fast, so I'm always on time even if I think I'm late.
My phone's alarms are also stacked, meaning I have 2-3 going off within a minute or two of eachother, and they're both set to go into snooze if they aren't dealt with, and their snooze function makes them go off again every three minutes. It's genius.

A thing I do for healthy eating and to prevent stuffing myself until I feel sick, is take one away from every bunch of snacks or food I take. Take 4 rissoles instead of 5, take 2 pieces of chocolate instead of 3, take 3 biscuits instead of 4 etc. It's not a crazy change, but cutting of 25-50% of your daily intake of food (mostly unhealthy stuff) does wonders.

I put something out of place when I need to remember something. When I see that it's in the wrong place, then I remember putting it in the wrong place, and why.

Make your alarm as loud as possible and put it on the other side of the room, preferably in place you can't reach without the lights off.
By the time it's off you're already out of bed with the lights on, might as well do something productive then.

Coca cola (or even better an non-brand cola) is excellent at removing corrosion. What it does to your insides is a mystery but it'll eat through corrosion. Just leave it in a bucket overnight and it'll be rust free by the morning

So many everyday items can be used for something else.

Not really a life hack but WD40, a hammer, duct tape, a phillips head, a flat head and a pair of pliers and you can pretty much bodge fix anything.
