I had a great idea, google image search! Well it doesn't actually have to be google per say. You know what? Let's just start over. My idea, a search engine that would allow you to input images and video in order search for information about it. You know, for when you don't have any information, but you want to know where an image or video is from. Thoughts? Good idea, bad idea, I'm a fucktard, anything?

I think I get what your saying but its a little convoluted.

So say I had a random pic of a nuclear explosion, I put it into the search bar and it will tell me what website its from so I can figure out what its a picture of?

If thats what you were trying to get at, I think it sounds like a good idea but I think it'd be extremely flawed if actually created, like taking you to straight wikipedia or some other website that has questionable information

Basically, bit ideally it could also do the same for video.

It basically tells you what other sites have used the image you give to it. It's good for finding the source of an image/ a higher resolution version.

Everytime I hear (EDIT: or see) "lightbulb!" I think of Despicable Me.

Good idea, but I think there are already a couple sites like that. Not sure, though.

It seems like the kind of thing that would require powerful image processing software, and some kind of advanced computer/huge database of photos to compare to the one you give to the search engine. I don't imagine it would work with current technology, but what the hell do I know?
