Ok then. I guess that works.hazabaza1 said:Maybe because in the end of the last game she wasJorec said:Never finished 13 and never played 13-2 so I'm not gonna make a judgement call on this lest I be labelled an asshat. It at least sounds interesting. I do wonder if it's 13 in game days or 13 actual days. Probably the former.
One negative thing I will say is, why Lightning? I mean I get it, she's the poster girl for the 13 series but why? Why not have a new character since this seems to be pulling away from the rest of the series, what with it being hundreds of years in the future and all. And not bring in one older character with the somewhat tired handwave of timey wimey bullshit.
"Oh she's in this game because she was... pulled into the future from a time portal! Yeah that sounds good. Someone write that down."frozen in crystal.
OT: Never played either, but I'm watching an LP of 13-2 where the LPers are just taking the piss out of it while close to 100%ing it. It looks bad, I'll admit, but this sounds alright.
That pic is hilarious!Andy Shandy said:![]()
Well I'm reasonably interested in this. I enjoyed the previous two games, so I'm hoping this one shall be just as enjoyable. Not the best name however.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, WAIT! Are you telling me they made FF13-3 instead of FF13 Versus? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Why? Why would they do this?Mistilteinn said:-Battle system has been overhauled, playing more akin to an Action-RPG with various skills mapped to the face buttons, the use of which will take portions of a non-segmented ATB gauge. Less aerial-combat focused than KH, and involves timed button presses ala Super Mario RPG for parries, blocks, counters, etc.
Really? He's back?Mistilteinn said:SNIP!
And if Hope managed to survive, that would mean Sazh and Noel did too...but Lightning is strictly party-less, unless this means we also get guest allies. Honestly I couldn't care less about Lightning's story right now becauseMistilteinn said:IGN's posted another article on LR:FFXIII, this time giving a few new details about how the game will work. Once again, for those that don't want to read the article:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/09/05/lightning-returns-final-fantasy-xiii-encourages-multiple-playthroughs
-They've designed the game to encourage multiple playthroughs, and due to this the game will be shorter than its predecessors (the article says it won't even take tens of hours to complete, so less than 20 hours, perhaps?)
-Strangely enough, it only has one ending (it's a happy one at that)
-Each in-game day takes between 1 to 2 hours to pass
-Your actions in game will cause you to lose or gain time, thereby hastening or slowing your arrival to the end of the game
-Lightning will have Hope as a navigator, leading her through the world via wireless comm device
-The game will be "World Driven", so paying attention to how you interact with the world will be important
-The game is around 30% complete
So, this information is equal parts interesting and confusing. For one, a short FF game? Ye gods! What madness has befallen SE!? But I'm being honest when I say I kind of like that idea. I wouldn't mind sitting down and beating a FF game in a week or two as long as it had good replay value. Which brings me to a point that confuses me: only one ending, yet the game encourages multiple playthroughs? I can only assume, but does this mean that it'll be Heavy Rain-esque, in that our choices will shape how our playthrough goes so no two players will have exactly the same game? I'm not sure how I feel about that, although I do like the notion of our actions impacting the world, as long as its both dynamic and noticeable.
I do have one big question, though:how the hell is Hope supposed to be her navigator when he got blinked out of existence just like everyone else at the end of FFXIII-2? I mean, I know at the end Caius turned the world into one without death (ie, Valhalla), so that could explain why Hope could still be alive, but at the same time didn't that effectively end the current existence of everything? Whatever--may as well let Toriyama 'fix' everything as best as he...well, nevermind. He'll do something, quality completely aside (readoorly).
Agito XIII is already out, it was released as Final Fantasy Type-0.viranimus said:Its a shame, Really. The concept sounds somewhat intruiging... But until these jackovs do something with vs and agito all this is irrelevant.
Each one of these things is only increasing the unmitigated loathing for SE because of nonsense like this.
