I was bitterly disappointed by FFXIII, so my opinion might not be worth much.

The over-posing right at the start turned me off immediately.
If your stupid split-sleeves require you to sweep an arm violently in order to re-settle them as you turn around, wear different clothing! Also your weird cloak/skirt thing looked more like the irritating 'tangle in your legs' kind than the 'free range of movement' kind (try this thing called pants, women can wear them now).

Buuuuuuuuuuut I did love the open-world roaming, even if it was a particularly plain thing which didn't have even a fraction of the depth and beauty of either Oblivion or Skyrim. I'm glad they're taking teeny tiny steps towards trying new things and I hope to see much more of this open world and no-loading attacking thing in future games.

Because I won't be buying this one, god no!

Looks pretty fun.
I'll certainly pick this up in the future.

That it's Final Fantasy doesn't bother me, doesn't even irk me that it's based off of 13.
Game looks fun, therefore I am interested. : )

Sorry Squeenix, not interested. This is the third game in a series and I never finished the first game, meaning I don't know what the fuck is going on or why I should care. I know there was some bullshit about alien gods and strange tasks that the main cast had to do but were never told exactly what...
summed up very badly:

13: alien gods tell party to do stuff, stuff seems to be "stop giant monster from destroying the world", it ends up that they misunderstood and the stuff to do was actually "turn into a giant monster to destroy the world". then the party decide to screw that and kill the god that was powering all of the other gods, and therefore destroy the world (good jub destroying the gravity god guys), then they all turn into statues to stop the world from falling from the sky and colliding with a bigger world.

13-2: lightning somehow got booted out of reality and is now the goddess of time and death, her sister travels through time to find her, but ends up screwing up time so badly that she destroys the heart of the previous god of death, causing Chaos to flood the afterlife, but thankfully, as long as nobody dies and causes the gates to the afterlife to open, reality as a whole is safe. she then dies (WELL DONE SERAH, YOU HAD ONE JOB!), chaos spills out of the afterlife and destroys reality.

lightning returns: chaos is destroying reality, lightning returns from vacation in Eorzea (no really, that's what she did between games, she was on holiday in FF XIV) and needs to stop the chaos from destroying everything, so she decides to actually USE the fact that she's the goddess of time now and pulls a majora's mask to try and make everything better... or worse, the player fucking things up seems to be a major theme in 13...
So...from what you're saying, it seems like the 13-2 devs watched Mirai Nikki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_diary and decided to rip that off...I mean pay homage to...I mean rip it off.
