All right, Escapists. Here's a shameful confession: I was just listening to the Pokemon 2 B A Master CD as I was browsing our wonderful forum.

I usually skip the final song, because it's so saccharine inspirational that it annoys me. But when I listened to it tonight, I realized that I still know all the lyrics to it from when I was young.

This led me to the realization that I remember a LOT of songs from when I was a kid, and can sing most of them without too much memory-digging still. Things like 'Since You've Been Gone' by Weird Al, half of the Pokemon 2000 soundtrack, even some stuff from choir when I was in the fourth grade (fifteen years ago now).

So the question is, can you still remember songs you knew when you were just a kid? What do you remember?

Your thread title would make an excellent middle to a limerick, like:

A tune from a childhood game
For your whole life will sound quite the same
Like a song you still know
From so long ago
(but you're always forgetting its name!)

LOL!

It's actually a lyric from a favorite song of mine, the Dropkick Murphys' 'World Full of Hate'.

A feeling inside, in the back of my head
Like a song you still know from so long ago
And I wouldn't change a thing.

I remember all the words for "Freedom of Choice", "Whip It", "Jocko Homo", "Mongoloid", "Secret Agent Man", and "Girl U Want". Can I help it if I still love Devo?

I remember all the lyrics to all the songs from the first two Linkin Park albums.
Furthermore, I also remember the school song of my first school.

I can't see any reason why you would want to try to help it, my fellow spud. Devo is amazing!

OT:The only two that I think of right now that would really fit into this category would be:

Presidents of the United States of America by Presidents of the United States of America

One Fierce Beer Coaster by The Bloodhound Gang

Not really from when I was a young kid, but they are albums I rarely listen enjoy. However, I can remember all the lyrics to both of those albums all the way through.

Actually, I take that back, I didn't listen to PUSA for years, but they have recently been back in rotation.

The title of this thread is actually a part of the Dropkick Murphys' Song "World Full of Hate" on the album "Blackout":

"A feeling inside in the back of my head
Like a song you still know from so long ago
And I wouldn't change a thing..."

I somehow assumed the thread was a reference to the above song but was mistaken. This album, incidentally, was one of the first that I acquired when I started listening to music, which I somehow avoided almost entirely for 20 years.

-EDIT-
And then I read where the OP did that intentionally.

The words to Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice.

It's so awful it's painful, but my mate knows them as well and we have a knack for singing it on a tabletop when we get drunk.

Stop! Collaborate and listen, Ice is back on a brand new mission...

Led Zeppelin.

Still know all the words to every song on How The West Was Won, which is the first real rock album I ever got, back in 2004. I can even hum the guitar solos.

A lot of old Hip Hop, my cousin used to play them all when I went round to his house every Friday to play Nintendo or whatever, I was only like 6 or something. This one, for example...

<youtube=S45cJwBkmA8>

That one more so than others though because I played Saints Row 1 online a lot, and it was one of the 3 songs that was played on the main menu, and the matchmaking took fucking ages, so I had this song drilled into my brain. Oh, and...

<youtube=gpL0xVIYbnU>

As retarded as the lyrics are, I know them all.

I remember the song from the simpsons when Homer writes a song about Ned Flanders.

Everybody in the USA hates their stupid neighbor
He's Flanders and he's really really lame
Flanders tried to wreck my song
His Birth control views are all wrong
I hate his guts and Flanders is his name.

I would pause and start the DVD to get the lyrics down on paper so I could learn them :)

Pokémon theme, and the Pokérap

That's just about it, other than that, I've been listening to the same music since I was 6 (Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, etc).

Scratch that, there are a couple Weird Al songs I hadn't heard in ages but still remembered.

I bet I'd remember the mono tunes from a certain calendar from Disney if I'd ever insert batteries in it again.

Other than that, I can't think of any.

Did you copy your avatar and un-ts repeatedly? Even though the beat is completely mismatched?

OT: Nope. When I was younger I could sing Oasis albums chapter and verse. I enjoyed Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger the most.
Actually, the amazing and wonderful Sleekgiant made my av from a gif from the MSPA forums :)

Oasis is amazing. I know those two songs by heart.

Damn you Potatoes! Now all those songs are starting to flood back into my memories! D:

Sad thing is I still have that CD somewhere in my room.
