"Then it's settled, someone who can hack, me, Edge, Jamal or Lone Star, and since you insist on it, someone covering our asses while we get in and get out."

"And I'll just stay at home and watch re-runs I guess"

Roberts had no clue why he'd been hired, Mr. Johnson seemed to know everyone skill set pretty well but he couldn't see where his fit in. Granted he could probably get into the facility in time but there were people much more qualified for that half of the job, even if he did get in what could he do? Frankly he had only stuck around this long because of the money, and he didn't even need that really.

Seriously I have no clue what my character can do which you guys dont already have covered

@Gabanuka
you would be pretty useful for either mission in terms of infiltration with ur camoflage abilities. you could easily pass for a guard, or someone else close to the target to lure her.

Debates with this group always turned into arguments and dick measuring contests. Marlowe sighed. Infiltration, hacking, assassination, that wasn't his thing. What could he do? Charlie knew that if he went with either of the groups, when it came to a firefight, his rusted Beretta Model 101-T and his lack of expertise would just slow everybody down. The only place he saw he could fill was support.

"And I'll just stay at home and watch re-runs I guess"

Marlowe smirked. "I'll join you. There seems to be no place for a talkative person like me, with contacts everywhere. Everyone here justs wants to bust either joint and get paid."

He then turned to Nolan. Charlie could forgive him for being distracted, but this was pretty annoying.

"My gun seriously needs a tune up." Marlowe glared. "And I don't want to die because somebody ignored my request for one."

Any ideas for my character's role in this operation?

"You alright?" Avalanche asked Clay after Wulf threw the ashtray at him. "He looked like he got ya pretty good." He was beginning to consider just walking out of the bar. Nothing was really getting done, and his plan for gathering info had been entirely ignored. The only thing that had really been solved was that there would be a 5 man team going for the archives.

Thinking on it a bit more, he decided he'd offer one more idea, just in case somebody gave a shit. "For the rest of us, I'd say we meet up in a few days, to give me time to figure out shift changes, patrol routes, and what time Dr. Shelly arrives and leaves, if she does at all." He looked over at Roberts before continuing. "I don't suppose you'd be interested in staking out the joint as well? Two people who can blend in is better than one."

Avalanche then turned to Clay. "I have something that you could help me with as well, if you're willing. Meet me out front after we're done here and I'll explain it to you."

"For the rest of us, I'd say we meet up in a few days, to give me time to figure out shift changes, patrol routes, and what time Dr. Shelly arrives and leaves, if she does at all." Avalanche noted, seemingly annoyed that his first idea, was largely ignored by the larger group.

"You make a good point Avalanche, for those who aren't taking on the archive mission, it'll give us a good opportunity to plan our movements, to figure out when would be the best time to infiltrate the compound where Dr. Shelley works. Thank you for the contribution Avalanche." It was then that the person in the orange space suit asked, seemingly out of nowhere, drawing attention to itself, after some brief interference from its A.I., Mr. Suit.

"Yes just tell me what you need from me."

"Hmm. Nova, would your unique abilities, allow you to drain power from a building? Cause I was thinking that, if its possible, it could shut down the data archives systems, rendering them inoperable once the team has obtained the data, for the foreseeable future."

"On an unrelated note, I happen to have an old friend, a contact as it were, who specializes in obtaining high end weapons and equipment, quietly of course. Figured we may need some heavier fire-power for both these missions, in case things get... troublesome. The man is a weapon specialist, been on the job, I reckon about thirty years, so he knows what he is doing, could supply us with a weapons cache. Besides, he owes me a few favours, and its about time he paid up."

"Also, there are a couple of people I know who work for NovaTech from about three years back. They harbour some form of resentment towards the company, after some incident which I won't bore you with the details about. With a little subtle convincing, I may be able to get them, to provide us with some kind of security access, they've always wanted a little payback for what happened. What are everyone's thoughts about both then?" He asked to the entire group.

"For the rest of us, I'd say we meet up in a few days"
Nik frowned.
"We ain't got long for this. I'd say two days at most. As I said, I know a place to meet if nobody objects."
Which to be honest, he was expecting at least one person to do. He hadn't exactly hidden it, and most people here seemed to have pick up on his ex-cop status. Didn't lead to a lot of trust, usually.

"On an unrelated note..." Nik waited for the assassin to finish before nodding in agreement.
"Look, anything we can bring to the table, we bring. Nobody here's dumb enough to turn help down, elseways we wouldn't have been picked for this."

"You alright? He looked like he got ya pretty good."

"Eh, I'm alright chump just caught me off-guard," said Clay, keeping his voice low. "************ acts like his balls are made of brass, but bad one move directed at me, and he'd be a bleedin' block o' Swiss faster'n he can even realize he's dead."

"For the rest of us, I'd say we meet up in a few days, to give me time to figure out shift changes, patrol routes, and what time Dr. Shelly arrives and leaves, if she does at all."

"That's usin' the ol' noodle," Clay said before taking a sip of his scotch. "Just as I was sayin', we need to gather our own intel."

"I have something that you could help me with as well, if you're willing. Meet me out front after we're done here and I'll explain it to you."

"Alright, pal," said Clay, curious as to what it could be. "I'll see ya out front when this is through."

"We ain't got long for this. I'd say two days at most. As I said, I know a place to meet if nobody objects."

"What I understood, from what Mr. Tanaka requested, is that we got ourself about a week to work at this," said Clay, hoping to convince the group that there was no need to rush. Poor planning and swift action was a bad blend, and he didn't intend on becoming a part of a 'Fuck-Up Smoothie'.

"Look, anything we can bring to the table, we bring. Nobody here's dumb enough to turn help down, elseways we wouldn't have been picked for this."

"I've got some friends in differing positions of power that I can ask for help and info from, but I can't promise anything. Where's this place you were speaking of? I'd put forth one of my own, but most of you wouldn't be welcome in that part of town, if not just shot on general principle."

"Besides, he owes me a few favours, and its about time he paid up."

Wulf looked up at the weapons smuggler, the Ancients had their own little stash of military hardware, cyberware, and even some prototype software, but it was more or less untouchable by himself or anyone else not high on the totem pole. Olloman was the only guy he knew who knew where it was even stashed, but it took a bit of going to get Green to agree to open it up.

"Your guy know how to get his hands on some long-range comms? Encrypted channels, each one bio-protected, that kind of thing? Preferably military-grade? 'Cause that would save us a bit of headache later on if the corp decides to look into this, and I'm reasonably sure they will. The guards take a report down for every time they take a shit, what are they gonna do when they find out some hot-shot scientist of theirs just got blown away after an Archive got smashed?"

"What I understood, from what Mr. Tanaka requested, is that we got ourself about a week to work at this,"

"A week is a very short time frame to work up a hit like this, Two-Thumbs. There's basic planning, gathering info, and then when everything's said and done. we've got a six-hour - maybe - window to pull it all off in.

"That includes getting in without too much hassle, finding the information on this *****, then either leveling the building or frying their systems, and then we've got a substantial amount of the private security of NeoNET to deal with just to get to her. We've gotta hit 'em hard, fast, and be out before the upper-suits know who, what, when, and where everything was taken."

Wulf stood and adjusted his duster, turned off his AR and waited by the door for Nik's responce to his question and anything else anyone decided to throw his way, preferably words, and not bullets.

"What I understood, from what Mr. Tanaka requested, is that we got ourself about a week to work at this,"
"Not what I meant. Two days recon, tops." Nik said. He turned to Wulf as his question was asked.

"Place is called Dragon's Lair. Smuggler bar. They've got a white noise generator and a Private Mode entry requirement, so you won't get snooped on. I can send out the address."

Presuming that's okay?

Roberts looked up from his drink a final time

"If we need contacts I'm sure I can get things done. I've got enough of a rep in the city to get pretty much anything sorted."

He digitally sent out a contact number to everyone

"Give me a call if I'm needed for anything, if you want I can do a bit of snooping myself. I know Dragons lair what time do you want to meet back up?"

Finwe had been silent as usual letting them fight out what they would do next.
Some of the people here are even aggressive then I am. My little fight won't even be remembered if thing continue down this path.

"He owes me a few favours, and its about time he paid up."
Finwe looks surprised. And whispers.
"Are you sure you want to do that a favor from such a man is worth allot, you know that better then I do. But are you sure you dont want to save it for something else then supplying the team? I mean I applaud it but think about it before using such an valuable thing. Make sure you won't regret it later."

"I can send out the address."
"That would be much appreciated it sounds like a good spot for a meeting. So when are we going to meet each other there?"
And if it is a trap I will just kill all the police officers there.

Well I also have my contacts from what i hear about everything is covered. Great I wont have to call in a favor.

"My gun seriously needs a tune up." Marlowe glared. "And I don't want to die because somebody ignored my request for one."

"Okay. Got a place for me to stay? I'll look at it there. I got off the bus less than an hour ago." Nolan nodded.

"Okay. Got a place for me to stay? I'll look at it there. I got off the bus less than an hour ago." Nolan nodded.

Finally!

Marlowe had the perfect place in mind for this mechanic. Cheap and easy. Thank heavens for cleaning maids with late hours and bucketfuls of discretion. A.C.T. Cleaning Services, that was the one. A concerned friend from Dallas had introduced him to that company, Charlie was skeptic at first but saw what they could do and fell in love. Even now, the apartment looked servicable apart from a few interior design mistakes he'd given up on correcting. The women didn't mind, anyway. But, best to give Nolan the idea the decorating was the choice of an imaginary tenant. Charlie thought it was too soon for people to start spitting in his face with disgust.

"Sure, it's my spare apartment. I used to rent it out until me and my previous tenant had a disagreement." Charlie said, "It hasn't really been cleaned up from then, so beware. And as a bonus, I won't charge you a dime of rent. Just keep the place tidy. It's not far from here, I'll walk you there."

He turned to the rest of the entourage.

"I'm gonna do the same as Roberts, hopefully with more success." He smiled. "Need me? Call me."

Marlowe wasted no time in sending out his number, it had been a long night and Charlie thought this was the right time for an ending to it.

"Are you sure you want to do that a favor from such a man is worth allot, you know that better then I do. But are you sure you dont want to save it for something else then supplying the team?" Finwe asked, sounding rather surprised at the proposal that Sebastian planned.

"You know Finwe, I was just going to ask him, if he could supply the team with some better weapons. Getting full sets of armour, for this many people, that would be difficult. I'll see what I can manage." Sebastian replied with, stating the potential extent of the support from Drebin.

"Your guy know how to get his hands on some long-range comms? Encrypted channels, each one bio-protected, that kind of thing? Preferably military-grade? 'Cause that would save us a bit of headache later on if the corp decides to look into this, and I'm reasonably sure they will." Wulf asked, seeing what equipment could be obtained.

"Hmm, its possible. My contact has primarily been a weapons dealer. Although, he has been working his way into military grade communications technology."

"I can send out the address." Nik remarked, saying that he knew of a place, where people could meet up after initial reconnaissance.

"Sounds good Nik. Might be a place I could use to make the phone call for the weapons cache, communications tech, and for some security access, from my people in NovaTech. Both of those can be arranged, after the recon, so I can figure out what specific armaments we may require."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Clay said, disregarding the elf's haughty absortion in his self-entitled leadership role.

It's gotten to his head so fuckin' much, you can practically see it grow, thought Clay. "I'm sure we've all been 'round the bend before, but listen. With the manpower we have now, providin' each and every one of us is really worth the twenty-kay apiece, it's plenty o' time. We should have more than just two teams workin' recon, considerin' we have plenty of goddamn ground to cover, and keep the halfway split for the finale. Given your estimate o' six hours, which sounds reasonable, we basically have all week to get what we need - and we can't waste a minute of it. We gather what info we can, so's we can at least know just what the fuck we're dealin' with, gear up on the night before, gives plenty of time for reviewin' plans, then, once we're ready, make the hit."

Clay turned to Roberts, "An' you, I've got an idea for you. I think you and someone else should choose a guard, a higher-up, someone with near-top clearance, then tail 'em. Find out where they go, how they get there, who they know - basically, learn every fuckin' thing about the bastard you can, right down to his favorite brand of toothpaste. Then, you're gonna take him outta the picture. Don't matter to me how you do it - kill him, put him in a safety deposit box, whatever. Once he's outta the way, you take his place. We could use you near the top, we need somebody with that kind of access so's we can just waltz right in and, if all goes well, waltz right out. Preferably with no more holes than necessary. Sound like somethin' you can do?"

Before waiting for an answer, he turned back to Wulf, "Oh, and by the fuckin' way, it's four, count 'em, four thumbs, asshole."

"An' you, I've got an idea for you...

Roberts wasn't a fan of being ordered around but Clay's plan made sense, gt a goo place in the facility and half that security wouldn't even matter.

"Seems doable" He said to no one in-particular "Anyone really want to help with this? How about you sunshine?" he nodded his head towards Nik "Or if not you anyone else up for a bit of back-ally work?" He looked around the room trying to meet everyone's eye.

"My pleasure." Avalanche responded, nodding. If I'm not careful, I'll end up liking this guy as well...

"We ain't got long for this. I'd say two days at most. As I said, I know a place to meet if nobody objects."

"I suppose I can get a fair bit of info in two days, although 3 would be better..." He started, a little unhappy at not having much time to work with. "How bout we meet in the middle and call it 60 hours? That's a decent compromise, wouldn't you say? As for the Dragon's Lair, I know the place. Had to do a job not far from there."

"Alright, pal, I'll see ya out front when this is through."

Avalanche nodded at this, a bit preoccupied with determining how he was going to explain his plan to Clay without getting shot. Wouldn't be this difficult if he wasn't so quick with those guns... I'll just have to hope he trusts me enough to wait for a short time before pulling them.

Jamal received the slew of numbers and saved them.

"Here this is my number. If anyone plans on staking out any of the buildings give me a call. I was plmanning on checking out their magical defenses anyway."

"Anyone really want to help with this? How about you sunshine?" he nodded his head towards Nik "Or if not you anyone else up for a bit of back-ally work?" He looked around the room trying to meet everyone's eye.

"i actually know just the guy for you Roberts. I can make him come quietly if you'd like."

"Easy there, Hoss," Clay interjected. "No confrontation 'til Roberts knows one ok them well enough that he can imitate every little mannerism perfectly. He's gonna need to become one o' these people, and not by takin' lessons from the bastard."
