I have a friend that posed a question I don't know how to begin to answer.
He bought a Star Wars Limited edition Xbox 360 some time ago. The problem is, recently it started to freeze on him a lot, after two or three hours of game play.
I'm thinking this is the beginning of the RROD..
The question is this... if he sends it in for repair, will he receive the same xbox back?? From my understanding, often when one sends in a 360, Microsoft just switches it out for a refurbished system. Since his hard drive is obviously internal, that presents an unpleasant scenario. Should he try to back everything up first onto his computer?
The big question though is will he get his limited edition star wars/R2D2 themed xbox BACK? Understandably I'd be PISSED if I sent it in for repairs. And then it came back as a regular old elite. Certainly I told him not to buy a new xbox since the new consoles are months away from release.
Anybody had any experience in this? Thanks.
