Hi, does anybody know how to remove this? It installed itself inside another program (Battery Care)and i've tried everything to remove it, it's completely high jacked my browser and turned it into Yahoo.

The only answers I can find in google tell you to go to the add/remove programs but it doesnt show up in there for me. C Cleaner it shows up but it can't remove it. I've been through my registry and deleted everything to do with Linkury but still no joy.

I'm also after a good free anti virus if anybody can help? I had Norton that expired recently and I was told to get AVG, but it just gave me a 30 day trial that has also expired yesterday.

Any help would be much appreciated!

*Edit* I forgot to mention but it's a windows 8.1 HP laptop

Apparently their support address is this, if you still have trouble: [email protected]
They look to be swine though, so perhaps not that useful.

I did find this guide:

http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-linkury-smartbar.html

The key is probably resetting your browsers as the guide says. It looks like add/remove programs doesn't completely remove linkury. In terms of resetting the browser, you can usually manually save a copy of your history, bookmarks, etc if you don't want to lose them.

If that doesn't work, let us know!

More generally, get a free AV - Avast Free Edition and ZoneAlarm are solid. And install Malwarebytes as well. You don't often need it, but it's good to have on your PC for emergencies.

You Sir are an absolute STAR!!!!!

All I needed to do was reset it and it was gone, I had followed simular instructions before (did something in firefox tools) but it had done nothing, so it's such a relief that it's now gone thanks to you.

I get the impression that it actually prevents you from removing it by omitting search results that could help, could just be my paranoia but considering how it got on there in the first place it may not be far off. I had got the original program from what I understood to be a reputable source, I think it was cnet?

Anyway thanks again

Glad to hear!
Cnet is usually pretty reputable, though it does have a nasty habit of trying to persuade users to install sponsored toolbars and other crap when downloading. I wouldn't stop using it entirely because of this though.
It's worth noting that although shite and criminally difficult to remove, this linkury thing (and most like it) isn't outright malicious. That's probably why it hasn't been taken down by Cnet.
For future reference, removing the program followed by a browser reset will normally kill similar addons and toolbars (though sometimes you don't need to even do that).

I didn't know about the browser reset at all, I had removed and re-installed instead but it was still there.

My usual experience is that they tend to try and force other things on you but you have the option to untick, but this was actually hidden inside another download. Pretty crappy move, but atleast now I know they do that so I will be wary in future.

Thanks yet again for your help though.
