With the rapid increase in personal listening devices in the last 15 years, I was wondering how many people here listen to live radio? Personally, I listen to the radio most days on my drive to and from work and often while I'm working. Normally I listen to BBC Radio 4 because I find no matter what time you tune in, there's something worth listening too.

I listen to the radio when I'm in bed trying to get to sleep. I put it on the sports radio to find out what happened during the day. I'll also listen to it if there is no TV available, and baseball or hockey is on.

Most of time I like to listen to the radio for some of the classic rock/oldies stations. Some of the DJs aren't bad either.

If I don't have my ipod on me I'll listen to the radio in the car. Driving to classical music is lovely.
Also sometimes I have it on in the background at home, like if I am eating lunch or something. I do like a bit of Jeremy Vine on BBC Radio 2.

Holy hell, it's probably been 6 months since I've listened to the radio. That was when I was away for University. The radio in the city was just so damn terrible that it was comical. I'm sure I'll listen to it again when I move back to my school's city.

I turn on a news channel in the morning to avoid oversleeping. The hour beeps and segment intros are usually loud enough to wake me up if I doze off.
As a bonus I'm up to speed on the news and weather forecast.

At work I stream music since the music most channels play is shite. Or I listen to podcasts. Gotta love the national radio, almost every single program is available for stream or download without registration or fees.

Right now I've got one of our public radio stations playing, one of the few that actually plays decent music. It's the only station I can recieve that regularly plays The Beatles, The Police, Dire Straits and music like that. All the other stations are your average commercial stuff.

I usually only have the radio on to wake up though, or in the car. I would've put it on more, but they pulled the only classical rock station and the only jazz station from the air. Made me a sad panda.

Also, the first thing I thought of when reading the topic-title was Battlestar Galactica. Do I get a nerd-cookie now?

I love the radio station in town, the rock one is ran by the college so my friends usually have a show.

95.1 WRBS is awesome in the Maryland area. Great songs. Great announcers. They have fun, so we have fun. :)

When I was on holiday in Florida a couple of years ago, I listened to some radio station, can't remember what it was called (any Florida based Escapists willing to remind me?), but it played mostly country music. That's where I first heard Taylor Swift (such a great singer :D) before she made it big here in Blighty. After we got back to England, my dad spent the next few weeks listening to that same station on the internet every time he used the computer for work and whatnot...

Here in the UK, I don't really listen to much radio, though I've been meaning to give my university's student station a listen. Usually I'll just listen to our local station (BRMB) when in the car with Mum or Dad, but I much prefer Radio One. The Live Lounge, Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Scott Mills - that is what makes a good radio station for me...
