I'm with him. I miss good sportsmanship too.

There was this young woman I knew in Germany, only 4'10" tall and 19 years old. I miss her, and she's little.

Gaming sportsmanship, though? Well, I still have that. I only play over the internet with people I know in real life.

Every now and then when I'm with a larger group (4+) of buddies on black ops and we run across another large group of people it almost always ends with "Good game!" or maybe some jokes about how guy X destroyed me with a nice nade or something like that. It's a beautiful sight when it happens...once every month or 2 ; ;

I miss sitting with my friends in the same room, rather than playing over the internet.

I miss having tons of exciting platformers to chose from.
I miss old school RPG's that use pre-rendered CG-stills as backgrounds.
I miss the days when Final Fantasy was still good.

And sometimes... I miss the simpler times of being a kid.

Me too. I miss the days when people took a loss as something to be learned from and not something to be whined and bitched about with lame-ass excuses.

I miss the days when a game being fun was the top priority of developers, before they started worrying about crap like "realism".

I miss cheat codes. Whipping out the ol' "Tips and Tricks Codebook" and going to town after beating the game proper was a tradition of mine. There were few aspects of gaming more satisfying to me than making the world my plaything with goofy stuff like super-low gravity, Big Head Mode and the ability to play as weird cameo characters.

Cheat codes, 4 player split-screen, local co-op, big expansions on CDs instead of overpriced DLC, and blowing on cartridges

This. You could talk normally without any fear of some randomer joining your party. You could have pizza and popcorn inbetween watching films and playing videogames. You could help one another on beating that game on that difficulty. No trolls, no 10 year olds, no lag, no headsets and a comfy seat, instead of the shitty chair you have to sit on now because the study is the only room in the house with internet. I miss that.

I also miss being young enough to watch cartoons. Good cartoons mind, not the trash on tv nowadays.

Let's not forget the ability to hear everyone in the room, instead of hearing what the microphone could pick up.

I guess people with gunslinger avatars think alike.

I miss old-school death animations in FPS games. Back in the day, enemies would do everything from physics-defying spinning and tumbling to shrieking and clutching the family jewels if you shot them in the crotch. Now they usually just crumple to the ground, like a mannequin that has its strings cut.

I miss getting a paper map when you buy an RPG. I miss DVD cases that weren't cheaply made.
Cheaply made DVD cases? Shit, I miss the big boxes that PC games came in, along with a hundred and fifty pages of manual and strategy guide, plus some extra goodies if it was a particularly good game.

give it a try. Its pretty well done.
Damn, that was quite good. I want to watch the rest now. And I think the classic superhero cartoons are the exception from the rest... mostly.
