If you haven't seen it yet, the full episode of Little Witch Academia has just been uploaded in youtube:

Before any of you report me for piracy, the episode has been uploaded by Trigger, the studio behind the show itself. The art behind the anime may seem familiar to you, that's because the person behind the anime is the same person behind one of the episodes of Gainax' Gurren Lagann.

I honestly like this show, if anything, Little Witch Academia is one of few currently released anime that still gives me the reason to have faith in anime, I really enjoy how it's story driven and that it gave me the same feeling I enjoyed watching movies like Basil the Mouse Detective and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. My only lamentation is that it's way too short, but I sure hope that Trigger will be releasing more anime like these in the future. I guess I can now also lay my worries to rest that only studio Ghibli can replicate old school Disney movies, since Trigger can just did it with Little Witch Academia quite well.

It was pretty good.
If I remember right the reason for it being short was that it was for a competition, some chaps from the community wrote a story and one of the big studios animated it for them. It'll be nice if they continued it but then again what we have already is pretty damn good.

Woah, that was damn good!

The artstyle and animation are wonderfully whimsical. It warms my heart to see current anime this good, and it gives me some hope for the future.

And am I right in thinking Sucy has the same voice actress as Haruko from Fooly Cooly? I could recognize that raspy snarl anywhere.

I was dumb struck by how good it really was. Totatly not expecting it...brilliant. Let us hope for more.

For people who haven't seen the other works of LWA's director other than Gurren Lagann, he did Gurren Lagann Parallel Works #8, which covers how Lordgenome ended up serving under the anti-Spirals, although originally considered non-canon, one official doujin that was released a few years back seems to point out that this episode is actually canon:

Link fixed, they took the old one out possibly due to some kind of unknown copyright violation since the new video is two seconds shorter.
