I thought they specifically said it was against the company's goals to make it...

Ahh well, I suppose they could add water...

And stuff...

Song's pretty amazing if i'm honest. Definitely up there with the amazing music from the first.

No Koran lyrics from what I can tell either...

ave a feeling LBP2 may be 3D level designer?
Not the 2.5d scrolling level kind of way.

Glad to see they are not putting sackboy out to pasture yet! Great to see another one in the works!

So what will happen to LPB they'll dump it right ?

maybe that's the reason why LPB is so cheap on amazon.. 25$ hmmm
well or it could be they support both as they may be very different and not much of a sequel as a companion.

I have no idea why, but I could never get into LittleBigPlanet... like, at all. It's weird too, because I love platformers and level builders, so it seemed like a no-brainer for me, but I was sorely disappointed.

Still, I'll be keeping an eye on this one, because they might remedy whatever it was that I didn't like about the first one.

O.O
*deep inhale* SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
My inner fanboy has been excited. Greatly. =D
I'm interested in seeing them use the water and paintinator tools for more than just one world each this time. Judging by the music track that's been licensed, I'd speculate that there's going to be either a robotic sort of level, or a WAY more detailed garden. Or perhaps a clockwork level. Seems mechanical to me though. Or it could be a space level...

My only concern is what they add into the game. They're going to have to do something that completely changes the game mechanics or player interactions. Granted, being this is the company that made perhaps the greatest platformer ever, I doubt they'd do anything less than that. 3D is, of course, a possibility, but it would probably take away from the lovely simplicity and user-friendliness of LBP. Perhaps this will be something more relative to sackboy. The key here is to think of something we've all wanted to do in the game but haven't been able to, would change the way the game works or the way the player controls it, and would be something that wouldn't be able to be put into a DLC. Here's a few possibilities:
Gravity control: allows you to make sackboy jump higher, objects to fall slower, that sort of stuff.
Control over grabbed objects: This is a big possibility. In the previous game, you had to control objects by moving clumsily around. Perhaps now sackboy can grip onto objects and swing them around more easily?
Better enemy AI and motion: I once tried to create a ceiling crawling bot, but it wouldn't work for some reason. I guess the AI wouldn't work upside down. Maybe this next game has some big updates on the AI of the brains and the motion of the creature parts?
New plane-changing algorithms: now and then there was a bit of a hassle when it came to changing between near, far, and middle due to the coding of the game, maybe there's some new stuff there.
Un-glitching the uber-planes: Remember the glitches that allowed you to create objects fifty planes in front of the playable planes and fifty planes behind them? Maybe they won't be glitches any more.
More planes: How about five planes instead of three? That'd definitely mix things up!
Just a few speculations there. Anyone got any other ideas what there might be?
Of course, there's always the possibility that we're just getting a fresh start with levels they couldn't make us download without killing our hard drives. That's always possible.

I'm really looking forward to this.
My concern is that the only reason this game even exists is because Sony bought Media Molecule and will likely just have them forging LBP games until they're a studio of jaded, old corpses with no sense of life, vigor or purpose left in them.

Thanks, Sony!

Why make a second one? People have made 2 million levels already, what's there left to do?

I'm hoping Little Big Planet 2 is just a new story with new building features added to the original. Kind of like a huge expansion pack.

It makes 0 sense to split the player base, effectively out-date the DLC and make people port things over. Keeping it 1 game would make more sense before just moving over to another IP all together.

Hm... Need to wait and see I guess.
I hope it doesn't end up as a half baked money spinner.
It'd break my heart to see Sackboy as an evil corporate toad.
