I'm 24 and have a TON of white hairs, I've got more now than before and it all started when I was 15. Never thought anything about those. I kind of like them myself

Till I got a white hair in my beard. That's just weird.

If I'm not mistaken, gray hairs are mainly caused by stress, so that would probably explain it. I've gotten quite a bit of gray hairs this year, and I'm only 16. Gotta love High School, eh?

I'm 29 and people usually think I'm in my early 20's. When I WAS in my early 20's, a guy tried to pick me up at the liquor store. He chatted me up and we exchanged numbers. He thought I was a cougar. Once he found out that I was his age, he immediately became disinterested in me.

I think I'm ageing too slowly, a few people have mistaken me for being around 14 years old, sometimes even younger :(
I'm going to be 20 in just over a month!

My wife spotted my first gray hair two weeks ago (33 in a week), I found myself completely unphased. It feels great to not have any bald blood family members on either side of the tree and to have the sample cases run as high as 101 years old. Bring on the gray!

My mum apparently went grey at 19. I've been colouring mine so long I can't remember the natural colour now... Just in case. No worries for most guys I guess, it looks a bit cool but if I go grey at my age, being female, I shall recieve more mocking than normal. Never! Also, I get random joint cracking, bad back, stiff neck and the like already. 16 does feel too old.

Not as bad as having premature baldness running in your family. And your hairline starts receding at 16.
I know someone with that. His started at 15, and he has practically no hair left already, even though he's 19.

I know a kid whose 19 and already balding. Crazy kid. And that's why you don't do coke. Or you end up looking older than your parents. True story.

I always said that I didn't intend to fight it-- always wanted the 'mad scientist' look.

But now that 40 is fast approaching, and my beard is shot through with with white, I find myself wondering if people think I'm older than I look, which might be a detriment in some situations (like interviews and such).

Regardless, no reason to stress over it. It's going to happen. If it bothers you too much, that's why they make hair dye. (My advice, even though you are a guy, get a pro to do it for you tho, particularly if you have dark hair. Bad things can happen when you do a home dye-job.)

So, fellow Escapists, I just hopped out of the shower and to my horror, I saw a bundle of gray hairs on my hair. I'm nineteen years old, and I just laughed it off as I pulled them out. But that got me thinking, I ask you, have you ever felt like you're aging too fast, or not fast enough?
I'm 16 and even got some gray hairs on the right side of my head, but my hairdresser said it was just some dead hairs because of something that might have "hit" the hair and "killed it".
No big deal to be honest.

And to answer the question: Only one year and 3 months 'til I'm 18 and can drive a car without an adult person to watch you, and buy beer and stuff like that [SUB]Hopefully not combined.[/SUB]
This year in particular has gone incredibly fast.
Hate to disappoint you but hair is already 'dead' technically. Also nothing happens to your hair to turn it white, you simply grow white hair. In other words you can't 'hit and kill' your hair to make it turn white.

Ouch. The sun can do that to you.

I've had white/silver hair since I was a small boy, never been bothered about them, in fact I like how it adds a bit of color and character to my otherwise coal black hair.

It's everyone else that seems to have a problem with them though, either trying to pull them out (despite my protests! D: ) or saying it's a sign of stress.

I do feel like i'm getting older too fast, but not cos the hair, merely cos I wish my age was frozen at 20, it can only get worst from here.

I've found my first few gray hairs in my sideburns (and more than a few missing hairs on my head), and I've got arthritis in a couple of my joints due to old sports injuries destroying the cartilage.

I'm 32. All things considered I'm really not too bad off for a guy my age...but tell that to the women in their mid-20s who I like to date (y'know, the whole "want kids someday" thing. Can't go looking for chicks pushing 40.)
