This is actually really well timed, as I have heard that bed bug infestations are on the rise all over the place. The messed up thing is, you can get them, even if you are really clean. It happens in hotels and university/college residences all the time.

They've done worse things to beds in the name of comedy. I wish I could remember which video involved the dumping of a massive amount of crumbs into someone's bed.

Interestingly enough, being really clean only helps you get bed bugs. If you make your bed in the morning, that prevents your sweat from evaporating off of your bed. That moisture creates a great breeding ground for the little pests.

At least, that's what I've been told. I don't know if it's actually true, but it does make sense.
