I'm thinking about just buying a good gaming pc instead of a ps4/xbox one. I've always played games exclusively on consoles and therefore have minimal knowledge about pc gaming. Are there many titles that have local multiplayer? Can I map the controls to a usb controller on any/all pc games? Also just pros and cons in general would be helpful.

The vast majority of modern PC games have native controller support, so don't worry about mapping manually. For the games that *do* require that, use Xpadder.

As for local multiplayer, it's still quite rare. There are a few games featuring it; Serious Sam 3, nearly all fighting games, etc, but they aren't common. Even the modern Resident Evil games and Left 4 Dead, which have local co-op on console, lack it on PC.

Yep, local co-op is practically non-existent on PC I'm afraid, gotta give credit to consoles for that. The only other examples I can think of are sports games and Trine.
