Haven't seen much discussion about this game, to which I really wonder why. Having picked up the game for cheap last night (thanks Best Buy!), I've been having an awesome time with it.

I've never played a suda51 game before, so the humor/style of it all is really groundbreaking for me.

The combat is taking some getting used to, as I don't have very many combos yet, but I'm getting the hang of it. Rainbows, sparkles, and hearts galore. I'm really rather enjoying myself. I stopped playing last night after getting to the first boss...

...who, might I mention, screams expletives at you which manifest into deadly letters which Juliet needs to avoid.

Oh, and he's voiced by Jimmy Urine.

I'm looking forward to playing more of it tonight after work. Anybody else picked up the game? How do you like it?

I played the first hour or so on my housemate's 360.

It's okay. I found it pretty funny. Not something I would pay for though.

The actual gameplay is pretty meh. Nothing hugely wrong with it, but damn if it doesn't get old fast. Also the facial animation is rather primitive.

I've beaten it on Normal and started working through Hard to finish my Zombie and Lollipop collections up, then I'm going to go back to easy to farm all that damn platinum for all the music, costume, and art unlocks.

990/1000, here I come! (No XBL).

If you've just finished stage 1, you have a great deal of fun ahead of you! I don't know which level I liked most, Stage 3 or 4... 3 was funny as hell, but 4 was just epic

I'm hoping to get it when it goes down in price. I do love Suda, but most of his games seem to be ridiculously short.

Once you get more combos, the gameplay gets interesting and challenging as you find yourself trying to corral the zombies into groups for Sparkle Hunting (simultaneous kills) for platinum medals for said costumes.

Dafuq? I don't understand why the people who complained about this game, complained about this game. That looked very cool.

"[spoilered] don't go!" *teary eyed*

*coughs* "Hrrr..." *jumps up vigorous* "Oh, I forgot - happy birthday"

And the boss fight was nice. I'd love to play this. But I don't have a console...

I got it on Friday and haven't had much time to play it as I've been busy the last few days but it's alright so far, (I'm still on the first/school level). One thing I've noticed is the controls are a bit hit-and-miss sometimes especially when trying to get a combo which can be frustrating.

Looking forwards to getting into it to get more of that unique Suda51 comedy and getting some more unlocks etc.

Well, I just completed the main story mode last night, and I got to say, those boss fights are incredibly satisfying. The main quip I can find about the game though, is that most of the combos you buy in the shop are A), far too expensive or B), pretty situational and/or useless.

Other than that, I had fun and enjoyed myself. I'm classifying it as one of those games you play in an arcade fashion, to get the best score in multiple playthroughs. As I said in the OP, I'd never played a suda51 game before, so I greatly enjoyed myself through my experience with Lollipop Chainsaw.

It's just great fun.

He also composed the boss music for this game.

Is it possible to legally marry a game? Because I might try

The fighting is a little sluggish, there's nothing to refute that. But then again, the writing is very strong and funny, in the way what reminds me of independent comics, which I appreciate.

Got it on Friday and got to the final boss but died twice due to missing out a QTE so I've just went back to trying to beat all of dads high scores, and collect all lollipops, music, costumes etc.

I've fought Zed like 5 times, and once on hard. and all the other bosses atleast twice minus the final boss.

Fun-est game I've played in a while. Though a little too many QTE's for my liking but thats all I dont like.

I didn't get a chance to check last night before I hit the hay, but are you able to just select a boss fight if you so choose to, or do you have to play through the entire stage again to fight the boss of that stage once more?

I ask because I didn't care for...

...Marista's level (Stage 3) & boss fight. It was so damn difficult and there's an achievement for dodging all her bubble attacks!

I pre-ordered this one and got a free blow-up chainsaw from GameStop.

As for the game itself, it's nothing revolutionary, but it is a lot of fun. The QTEs get to be a bit much, but the core of the combat works pretty well. It's clearly intended as more of an arcade-y experience focused on replaying to get higher scores.

The real reason to get this one though is the humour. While it does get a little heavy on the vulgarity at times, the banter between Tara Stong's Juliet and Michael Rosenbaum's Nick is really awesome.

So far this year, this is one of the few games I played that gave me exactly what I expected out of it.
