Greetings. If you are seeing this message, then you have decided to take an interest in London of the year 2056, an area - much like the world it's set in - filled with advancement and intrigue. This is a cyberpunk RPG originally started by Legion [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/Legion], its management having been more-recently changed over to another [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/FalloutJack] with his consent. The new manager wishes to convey that this is a serious RPG, unlike his other, and will be maintained as such out of respect for the original creator.

We require more participants, as a number of them have left for...various reasons. The front page [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/540.867586-London-2056-A-CyberPunk-RP-Game-thread-Started] of the roleplay will explain the general world and the types of characters that initially joined. The management apologizes for being unable to edit the primary posts for character removal, replacement, and addition. Participants are asked to post their profiles on this thread, which (once accepted) will appear in the London 2056 Group Page in the Announcements section.

The following template has been approved for use:

Name: Your character's name.
Gender: Your character's gender.
Age: Your character's age.
Nationality: Your character's nationality or nationalities.

Physical Appearance: A physical description of the character. A picture can help, but more details are better. Try to paint the mental image of your character in words to give others a good understanding of what they look like and how they act.

Augmentations: A general overview of the artificial enhancements the character has had implanted into their body, or replaces partof their body. Please read all information about augmentation, and include references to cyberware (hacking software and the like) if any apply.

Affiliation/Occupation: Do you work for any of the main organizations or are you in business for yourself? Please remember to familiarize yourself with The Law, the H.A. Dynasty, and CyCorp before choosing your career path. You may find that you are intrinsically linked with any of these groups already, and may wish to use that to your advantage when generating a profile. Independent occupations also exist, but remember that these organizations are far-reaching. If your chosen occupation is not immediately clear, please describe what it involves for the sake of others.

Areas of Personal Interest: These are some of your character's personal likes and areas of pursuit, hobbies and other such things. What is it that they have a special attention to that - while not professional in nature - they gravitate towards?

Brief Background: Long backgrounds have been written, and this is essentially a peek into your character's life story, but please try to be concise yet detailed. You are telling much of your character's life in the RPG itself as is.

When you have posted a profile for a character in this thread, the management will inspect it and determine its acceptability. Should it not match with the proper criteria in some way, it will be facilitated towards possible acceptance as best as humanly possible. A bad profile cannot be helped in this manner, however. Those who are accepted into the cast of London 2056 will take join the Group and be either written in or asked to write an introduction post privately. The management reserves the right to conspire with players to enhance the storyline.

At certain times, you may see the Queen Bee icon along with a message to someone. If you are the recipient to such a message, it means that you are being given a chance, a helping hand, in your endeavours, whatever they may be. Questions, comments, and so forth may now commence.

Name: Kane McGruff

Gender: Male

Age: 31

Nationality: American, Scottish, Irish.

Physical Appearance:
Standing straight at 5'9? and weighing 243 Lbs Kane has short red hair an inch and a half long standing up with the same color eyebrows that sit just above one pure gray eye with the other one being light green. His skin is a mild white color and does not burn even with long exposure to the sun. Normally he wears a dark blue shirt tucked into light color jeans with a thin belt holding them up, half-calf boots tied up under the bottoms of the jeans.

When he is out walking around he keeps his head up and the enhanced eye roving over those who who were walking towards and past him watching for a sign out of place. Inside the coat in a shoulder holster on the left a revolver based after the Smith & Wesson Model 500[8 3/4 inch barrel] while on the other side 3 speed loaders sit with the needed .500 S&M Magnum Armor piercing rounds.

Augmentations:
His right arm has enhanced strength and a toughened exterior.
Right eye has been replaced and has both inferred and enhancement ability's. [Right eye is pure gray. Usually alined with his other eye it can move independently but it gives him a migraine.]

Protection and transportation knowledge and experience of people and packages.
Marksman level ability with revolver.
Low level protection martial arts ability.
Lip reading expert.
Ex-pickpocket.

Collecting wooden carvings of animals [6? or smaller]
Refuses to drink, when drunk he is an angry drunk who goes looking for fights.
Low level addiction to SynthCigs.[Synthetic Cigarettes with a minimum use time of 3 weeks and maximum of 6 months.]
Likes to listen to music from Ireland and Scotland.
Carving miniature animals.

Brief Background:
Born into a slum on the east end, Kane knew his mother for a few years before abandoning him. Leaving him alone, he joined one of the small gangs in the slum just to survive. Growing up with them he learned how to steal from those who passed by and from the world around him all while staying out of the way of the larger gangs, all of who would have smacked him aside if he was lucky, or, killed him if he was not.

Before he was 16, Kane had been in trouble with the law several times, on minor accounts. He had gone from a low level street boy to someone who made a small living picking pockets. He would have continued on this path if he has not lost his arm in an accident. He had been following a wealthy man one afternoon. As Kane reached out to pick his pocket, an incognito bodyguard stepped out and taken his arm off just below the shoulder. They continued on, leaving him behind screaming in the middle of the street. His pickpocketing days were over.

After that, he lost all standing in the gang, leading to being kicked out. With nothing, Kane lived on the street. Half a year later he was more than half dead in an alley from hunger and exposure. Kane was succumbing to death when he was picked up by a group street sweepers that were gathering the homeless for experiments. When he woke, he found himself in a lab with a new arm. While a doctor pulled his eye out, Kane cringed in pain as the masked doctor replaced it for a better one. After another session of deep sedation, Kane woke to a well dressed man waiting in his room. He explained Kane was one of a few experiments who had survived the streets and the attachments and was now in the dept of CyCorps. Starting out as a low level grunt in the group, he worked his way up into the courier detail- moving inexpensive things through the city, before being bumped up into the personnel transfer and guarding division. Being given that job at 27 years old, he has been at it 4 years so far. The work life continued for 31 year old Kane.

Sorry, looks like I answered your PM a little late. Ah, the habits of playing Shadowrun...

{1} Okay, I know WHY you put down percentages for nationality, but you didn't really need to. Just the dominant origins in general was fine.

{2} Type out your '8 3/4 inch' measurement. The Escapist screwed it up.

{3} So, the roving eye moves independently of the other or what? It can happen, but I would like to know if it is.

{4} So, just for clarification, as this is not vital but interesting, he collects little woulden animal carvings and makes his own?

{5} There are some grammatical hang-ups and typo stuff that stand out in the background, but mostly what's missing is the location of the slum he was born into.
