http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/london-to-get-coffee-and-fellatio-cafe-a7170266.html

The past couple of years have seen smoothie bars with live owls and a naked restaurant, but London's next novelty opening is set to be the most surreal, controversial and inevitably popular yet, a caf? where customers get a bl*w job with their latte.

You may remember reports on the plans to open the first Fellatio Caf? in Geneva circulating earlier in the year, and this has now been locked in for a 5 December, 2016 launch.

Following this, founder Bradley Charvet told The Independent that he intends to open a second coffee shop in Paddington, London.

The Baroque-themed, 150m? caf? will serve coffee and a few pastries, with customers being given an iPad on which to choose an escort from a list of thumbnails to perform oral sex on them. ?50 will be the base charge (billed as 'the most expensive coffee in the UK') with ?10 added for every extra 15 minutes.
I'd be slightly suspicious of the milk in that place. Also how is this legal and when can I visit? Although I can't imagine myself ordering a latte, a danish and the blonde.

Just thought of a bad potential marketing pun a discounted latte and BJ could be a Fellate.

London's coming up in the world, baby. I love that sign in the embedded video:

Latte: $200
'Hot' Latte: $2,000
'Full Body' Latte: $50,000

I am excited to see the tactics employed to try and stop this.

Not every place has prostitution as an illegal, immoral sin thing. If prostitution is legal, then something like this would be fine.

I do not personally know the status of such things in London or the UK at large though.

I remember they had these in the sleazier parts of South Korea while I was there. Well... I mean, I'm sure there's stuff like this in every country, but they were fairly 'famous' there (Along with the fantastically named 'Hooker Hill').

While I'm personally not opposed to the whole 'sex industry' thing (As long as everyone is consenting), but... is prostitution legal in the UK?

And even if it is, wouldn't this violate some sort of health code?

EDIT: Prostitution is legal, but brothels and solicitation in a public space are not. Seems like they're trying to skate on technicalities.

Still wondering how this doesn't violate health codes.

... Ew.

I mean, whatever floats your boat, I suppose. But... ew. That sounds super unsexy to me.

Our laws are a bit weirder over here regarding sex work, so I suppose it depends if the law decides whether or not it's technically a brothel. I do wonder if this would be more profitable for the women themselves, though. I suppose they wouldn't have to go looking for customers, but also they're only getting a bit of the 50quid pricetag, rather than all of it.

Not a fan personally, but as long as it is legal and they respect health regulations for both services provided (food and fellatios) then I have no problem with it.

It seems rather strange coming from a country that (IIRC) illegalized face-sitting from its pornography, though.

Yah... trying to hold a conversation with a friend (They say they picked a coffee place because it's social, so you're supposed to bring a friend) and drink coffee and have a pastry while some woman slobs your knob in public under the table... I'm sure that's someones fetish, but it just sounds like an expensive way to have an awkward moment with both acquaintances and strangers. And a good way to see some facial expressions on a good friends face that you probably could have gone a life time without seeing.

The article seems to imply that there will be a lot of hookers to choose from, but only 150 square meters of space to put table in (Tables which will have to be supersized to accommodate women, of course). Doesn't sound very ideal for the prostitutes, to be honest.

There are a whole butt load of questions I have about this, but I'm really curious what they plan on doing about hygiene. I mean do they make the guy at least shower? What if he has stds or a fungal infection? Is there someone watching you the whole time? What if he spills the coffee ON the escort? etc. etc.

Yes, I can sort of understand why someone would think it's a good idea in theory, but in practice it's likely to be dominated by beer bellies and the smell of knob. And the whole thing seems to be a recipe for finding a stranger's pube in your coffee.

No, well I hope they get the best out of it that they can, but it does seem like they could probably do better on their own.

Hey now, if you just want a awkward time in public for cheap, just bring me along! I can do awkward silences, awkward moments of not knowing what to say or respond, clumsiness AND unintentionally awkward conversations. All for the low price of some snacks!

But will you occasional moan creepily like someones licking your coin purse and show me your O-Face in the middle of a sentence? That's where your money's going in these fellatio cafes.

So is this service only for men?
Yup.

They were asked about doing it for women, and they said their not currently setting up for it. Once the business is in action (Presumably proving that a. they can make money and b. their lawyers know their stuff and they aren't going to get pounded into paste by the government), they said they'd look into whether it's worth doing it for women (If enough women show interest).

I'm actually interested in this.

I can't find any information of safety laws for UK prostitutes. I'd like to think that they're at least as well protected as legal prostitutes in the US - In Nevada, it's mandatory that condoms be used by all prostitutes, for oral, vaginal, or anal sex. Many to most of the 'classier' (Not picked up in an alley for car quickies for 5 bucks) do the same. In addition, they have mandatory bi-weekly and monthly testing for diseases.

Like I said, I'd hope the UK would have similar laws. Then again, since brothels are illegal, I don't even know if registering as a prostitute is thing in the country. So even if they do have those laws, how could they enforce them?

Ah, well that makes sort of sense I guess. Though it sounds a little more of a spatial issue to deal with there also.

Yes, straight men specifically.

OT: Everyone else has already pointed out the issues with this, but it bears repeating that this seems like just a massive health code violation in addition to just being a horribly uncomfortable, awkward, and unappealing place to have coffee and pastries. And, though I imagine this is more of a broad issue with all regulated prostitution, but is there some sort of system in place to prevent the spread of STIs?
No service for gays? Oh dear, wouldn't want to put the straight ones off their coffee now, would they?
I guess protections from STIs are always something prostitution has to be careful with. It's more how the law is going to act for protection.

Isnt that already a gay bar I visited that one time? Dont look at me like that. It had a nice smooth latino. The drink... and maybe the man.
